Type: Open Question Responses: 50 Response Gender Age State I love red lipstick but am too scared to wear it incase it gets on my teeth, smudges or bleeds. My idea of the perfect red lipstick is one that stays put and is slightly glossy and moisturizing. Female 32 QLD love my red lipstick, i feel good when i wear red i dont like the one not too red. i like russian red Female 36 VIC russian red is my fave, and the one that easy to clean too Red lipstick is super cool.it brightens the face. I struggle to find the perfect shade because a lot are blue based reds which really highlights the blue veins around my mouth and more often than not leaves me looking like a sickly vampire. My perfect red is a true red that isn't sticky. They can come off easily. I also like a more natural looking lip colour, and often do not wear any, prefering a balm that can be put on without looking. I love red lipstick. I often wear it when I go out. My dislikes about it are the fact that it needs to be re-applied regularly. Perfect red lipstick would be long lasting and non-smudging also something that doesn't dry out your lips. A matte red lipstick would be my preferred type. It is very bold, colourful, reminds me of confident women. My friend wears it, with not much else make-up, and it looks great. I don';t wear bright lipstick. I think it is too extreme for my face colour and it stains sometimes. I think a paler red would be my perfect red lipstick I prefer a brownier tinge of red. I do not like the bright orange. I also look for a lip stick that is a colour stay and does not smudge or go on teeth! Response Gender Age State Some lipsticks are too red. Some lipsticks "bleed" beyond the lips or stick to the teeth and if they are quite red this is quite noticeable. The marks it leaves on cups etc, or clothing. The perfect red lipstick has to be a subtle shade, durable, good quality so it doesn't "run" rub off, dry out your lips. I don't like how red lipstick hights any blemishes you may have. I also dont like the staining effect. I love a glossy moisturizing lipstick. Many that I have tried stain my lips after they are removed, leave marks on glasses and if they get on my clothes stain them. It can carry over from work to a night out, and different shades can be used for more casual, or more formal settings. Some of my dislikes with red lipstick is that it can get on your teeth and leave marks on cups and silverware. I wear more of a deep red to compliment my completion. Only really wear it occasionally as i prefer a more natural look. That's probably the thing that i dislike, is that red lipstick, bright red, often draws attention to the person who wears it. My idea of the perfect lipstick is something a nice shade of pink, accentuates the mouth and lips but isn't drawing attention to it. I prefer lipsticks which are subtle and less noticeable but make me feel confident Red lipstick is alway visible when it gets on your teeth. This is something that really bothers me. I have quite a small top lip so it never really works very well for me. I alway find that I m no lip make up expert so it often bleeds out of my lips onto the skin that surrounds them and that doesn t look very nice. Female 33 SA Female 24 VIC I don t think there is a perfect red lipstick because red is a very bold colour and definitely something that I d prefer to avoid wearing. Nude/natural/pinky colours are more my style. I don't wear red lipstick as I don't like how it looks on me. I prefer more neutral shades. I think that it can suit some people but that most people wear the wrong shade. The wrong shade can look trashy and it can be hard to get it to look perfect and not bleed or end up on people's teeth. Response Gender Age State They smudge and get onto your teeth. Great vibrant colour and easy and precise to apply without bleeding. Female 34 NSW I have never worn red lipstick, although I admire it on other people when they wear it well. It is hard to find a shade to compliment my skin tone as I have a ruddy complexion. I also prefer a stayfast lipstick which I feel looks better in more muted shades as it's less noticeable when it starts to wear off. Female 42 NSW A perfect red lipstick has a blue base to make your teeth look whiter! It's not too orange and it doesn't get stuck in your teeth or smear on your face, or transfer onto others when greeting with a kiss. I don't like red lip stick for myself. I fades over the course of the night and doesn't stay fresh looking. I also goes on people when you kiss them or on your glass yours drinking from. Some reds are too orange or brown. A perfect red lipstick would be a true red colour that is long lasting and does not smudge. The perfect red is blue-based, matte and long-wearing, doesn't bleed or transfer. I dislike when it gets on your teeth or becomes patchy as it wears off. I like wearing red lipstick but only for special occasions as I feel it stands out a lot and sometimes I don't feel like wearing it. I think it is sexy and bold. The thing I dislike the most is that because it is such a strong colour when it fades it tends to look pretty terrible so you have to be careful to reapply frequently. At the same time, sometimes when you want to get it off it doesn't come off completely, leaving your lips with a weird red tinge. Sadly, I haven t found my shade yet. Female 40 QLD Love red lipstick and wear it quite a lot. I don't like dry lipsticks, or ones that bleed. Some reds can turn a bit pink/ look lighter on than they do in the lipstick tube. Female 43 NSW The perfect red is between matte and gloss - a 'satin' look. A blue-red in winter and an orangered in summer. Red lipstick makes me look like a kid who's put on lipstick wrong. I'm sure if it's put on properly I'd look fine. Red lipstick tends to get on teeth and everything else. Perfect red lipstick would be matte, somewhat natural and doesn't get on everything. I do not wear red lipstick often. But when I have, it has almost always been for a night-time event when I am wearing black :) Red lipstick must be perfect. Smooth and creamy that stays on and doesn't "bleed" onto the area surrounding the mouth or one's teeth. Personally, I love Mac's! I miss not a big fan of red lipstick but maybeline red lipstick is good which I wear rarely. Red is too bold for my taste I love red lipstick! Although it can bring out any yellowing in your teeth. Response Gender Age State Red lipstick is a very sensual colour to be used. What i like about it is that it really draws your attention to a person when worn. The perfect red lipstick isn't so bright, but a darker red shade. I don't like lipstick in the first place. I have never worn red lip stick because I think that it looks very unnatural. I would also be constantly aware whether it still looks good or needs reapplying. I like lipsticks that are moisturizing and I have struggled to find one like this that is still reasonable in price. I have had ones that go crumbly which is really not a good look. I like to know that my lips are going to look bold and beautiful all day. It's very hard to find the perfect red lipstick because either it feels too thick, too glossy, or it makes my whole face looks darker and it's just not the right shade. My idea of a perfect red is something that has the color but is still subtle enough to make the statement. It can be something that is thinly put on but the color already stands. I love wearing red lipsticks! So many gorgeous shades to choose from. I wear it mostly on a night out with the girls. No bad experiences apart from it getting on my teeth which is embarrassing. Some cheaper brands will actually stain your lips or not last at all! My idea of a perfect red lippy is one that stays on, but isn't fully matte, one that is a really nice shade (not too bright, not too dark) and doesn't try your lips out. The only thing, which I don't like about red lipstick is marks - red marks everywhere (especially coffee caps). If I could buy beautiful red lipstick, which would be consistent and won't leave marks, then I am on board:) Usually it's more trouble than it's worth because it ends up getting around my face and ruining my makeup because you can't get it off easily.
