June 01, 2017 Dear 4-H'ers, Parents and Leaders: This letter contains instructions and forms for the Butler County Fair Fashion Revue. It will be held at El Dorado High School, 401 McCollum Road on Saturday, July 08, 2017. Please note: (1)clothing construction judging WILL take place at Fashion Revue again this year. The schedule is as follows: TIME EVENT 7:00 a.m. Doors open at the El Dorado High School 8:00 a.m. Constructed modeling starts immediately followed by call-backs 9:15 a.m. Buymanship modeling begins 9:15 a.m. 9:45 a.m. Clothing Construction judging check-in 9:30 a.m. Clothing Construction judging begins 2:30 p.m. Public Presentation GENERAL EVENT NOTES: Only scripts are required to be turned in. No green pre-entry cards are required. Late scripts will not be accepted. Times for all Fashion Revue modeling will once again be pre-scheduled. Each participant will receive a schedule in the mail shortly before the event (also available online). There are no concessions at the school. You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks but please be respectful of the facilities and keep them at the tables in the commons area. The stage will be available during the morning for public fashion revue practice. There will be a script book on the podium to read through to check your script(s) for accuracy. Please take advantage of having someone come with you to read your script as you practice on stage. If you modeled multiple outfits for judging you must also select which outfit you will be modeling in the Public Revue. (You may model one outfit from the clothing construction division and one outfit from the buymanship division. However, if you are modeling two buymanship fashion revue outfits and/or two constructed fashion revue outfits for judging, you will then need to choose which outfit you will be modeling at the public fashion show.) Cross out the script(s) that correspond to the outfit(s) you will not model in the Public Style Show. The Public Fashion Revue will be held on July 08, 2:30 p.m., El Dorado High School. In order to receive your prize money you must exhibit your outfit at the Butler County Fair as follows: (A) One buymanship outfit per exhibitor, regardless of ribbon placing, MUST be displayed at the Butler County Fair. (B) All constructed garments modeled must also be judged in the construction division & displayed at the Butler County Fair. (C) Champion and Reserve Champion outfits from all divisions (construction & buymanship) MUST be displayed at the Butler County Fair. All buymanship and construction outfits must be checked between 1:00 3:00 p.m. in the South Room of the 4-H Building on Saturday, July 29. See Fair Book for important details. FASHION REVUE JUDGING Doors open at 7:00 a.m. Please see the schedule on the first page for times. Pre-entry should include: Pre-Entry/Script Form (there is room for 2 entries on both the Clothing Construction/Crochet/Knitting Fashion Revue and the Buymanship Fashion Revue). You will find the Pre-Entry/Script Form in this letter. Please make copies as needed (also available online and at the Extension Office). Fill out 4-H Fashion Revue Evaluation score card (one for EACH outfit) and bring it with you to the judging. A photo of the 4-H er in their outfit must be attached to each 4-H Fashion Revue Evaluation score card. Pictures will be returned at the conclusion of Fair. Check in at the table inside the front doors (East side of building) of El Dorado High School in advance of your assigned time. There you will receive a label with your entry number. Attach the number to the right side of your outfit in a place easy for the judges to see. Constructed garments that are modeled for fashion revue must be entered in construction judging that immediately follows the modeling. Change in an assigned dressing room and report to your judging room with your completed scorecard (including photo) & entry card at least 10 minutes prior to your assigned time. Please check the call-back list (those who have been awarded purple ribbons) once your entire room has completed judging. Participants on the call-back list will then model as a group for the judges and the Champion and Reserve Champion entries will be selected from this group. To find out your placing and receive your ribbon, you MUST participate in the Public Fashion Revue that afternoon at 2:30 p.m., El Dorado High School. Majority of outfit must be constructed and modeled by the 4-H-er who made the garment/outfit. Everything which is commonly considered an outer garment must be constructed (vest, jacket, dress, skirt, pants, coats, etc.) A sweater, blouse, or shirt that is not worn as an outer garment can be purchased or made. ** **CLOTHING CONSTRUCTION (CONSTRUCTION JUDGING ONLY this DOES NOT include the Fashion Review portion of Clothing Construction) does not require a pre-entry. Entry cards will be available at the Clothing Judging or from your community leader or the Extension Office.
