Memo RECEIVED AU6 3 zilfl ADMINISTRATION To: Raquel Becerra - Village Administrator From: Keith M. KnauE - Director of Paks, Recreation and Facilitie, 'oy' cc: Nicole Lewis - Human Resource Manager Date: August 31,2017 Re: ffice Apparel The recent update of Administrative Police 94-07 has led me to take a look at the operations here at the Sports Hub and put together a plan for apparel within the Parks, Recreation and Facilities Department. The policy for offlce staff is clearly laid out and I am not looking to change that for any of my office techs, secretaries, assistants, or myself as that has already been established. ln the setting of the Sports Hub, I do have office type staff that perform a number of different duties in and around the sports hub, concession stands and various parks and these are the people I am looking for permission to create a different attire policyfor. These positions include, Recreation Supervisors, Recreation Division Manager, Customer Service Associates, Program Facility Coordinators, Pre-School Staff, Seasonal Youth Counselors and Coordinators, and Seasonal Recreation Attendants. For these positions, the nature of the work that they perform on a regular basis includes work that might require them to wear clothes that allow them to run around, get dirty or adjust items that could be dfficult in the office apparel rules that have been passed. For these positions I am asking for the following clothing to be allowed to be worn in addition to what is already in the policy:. Gym shoes o Nylon or polyester sweat pants (no cotton sweats) o Leggings or jeggings appropriate for work o Bermuda Shorts or gym shorts that must be fingertip length. Jeans (no ripped, torn orwith holes) o Department issued shirts and sweatshirts o Ball Caps (outdoors only and always wom as designed)
CIher plain t-shirts and sweatshirts. Sports team, university, and fashion brand names on clothing are generally acceptable. lmpfementation would be Odober 1,2017, so that all staff may be properly informed. Please let me know if you have any questions or need any clarifications on this dress code change. Thank you for your consideration. Approved: Approved By:
