2 THE ROGUE STORY Justin Selke 1971 In the 1960 s, Justin Selke started work as a game ranger at a prestigious private game lodge adjoining the Kruger National Park. The nearest town was a good trundle away, which meant that the rangers soon became competent mechanics, chefs and doctors. Justin found his second job as a tanner... of finished leather. With the art of tanning mastered, he saw the need for a range of quality leather goods and so Selke Leathercraft was born. His handmade shoes, bags and belts were to be worn by the local rangers and outdoorsmen. His goods quickly became sought-after for their practical, comfortable and most importantly, hard-wearing capability and as the bush telegraph spread so too did the demand. Now, 50 years on, two generations of the Selke family have put their name to a range of apparel they believe is worthy of it. Rogue is made in Africa for Africa. We don t go along with the throw away culture of the modern world and now that your (unreasonably) paltry incomes must go further, so too must our products. We select and use top-grade materials to ensure that what we produce is the very best. 26 Care Instructions: Leather: Leather is a natural product. It contains oils that, if exposed to continuous wet and dry conditions will leach and cause the leather to die and crack. Please re-oil or treat with a leather food or leather wax. Allow to dry naturally, not near a fire or heater. Rogue Suede: Suede leather can be brushed or sanded lightly with a fine sandpaper. Suede leather Vellies may occasionally be washed and left to dry naturally. Rogue Canvas Canvas - Lightly brush off any dust. For minor marks, remove with a damp sponge. Do not machine wash a canvas hat. Canvas Raggies may be washed in a mild detergent.
