5 1042 A Large Quantity of Assorted White Linen and other textiles etc (two boxes) 1043 Printed Paisley Shawl, 175cm by 175cm 1044 Late 19th Century Red and White Striped Bible Quilt, embroidered in red and white covering the whole quilt with animals and religious verse, possibly by John and Wm Carriss finished 'June 15th 1892', 'Follow Righteousness, Faith, Hope, Charity, Peace', 220cm by 250cm *The Church played an important role within family life in the 19th century and Bible Quilts were designed in two formats, either using this embroidered technique or patchworking with pre-printed panels of religious text.
