24 Recent EFF tasks carried out: Evaluations / Calculations Evaluations of W, Pb, Ta, Be, and Si for energies up to 150 MeV. Cross sections were calculated with the ECIS-96 and GNASH codes Covariance data were generated by means of the Bayesian code GLUCS Calculational tools have been developed for the Monte Carlo based calculation of sensitivities and uncertainties (S&U) using both point detector and track length estimators, implemented in MCSEN. MCSEN is well qualified for S&U analyses of fusion devices such as ITER as well as neutronics benchmark experiments. The method was already applied for the tritium production measurements in the HCPB breeder blanket mock-up experiment EAF-2007, Prague 2-4 Oct, 2006 NEA Nuclear Data Services, H. Henriksson 24
25 Future development in EFF/EAF New cross section evaluations for EFF: 55 Mn and 52 Cr up to 150 MeV. Covariances of oxygen will be investigated theoretically. Calculations aimed for EAF on Cu and Mn. Completion of EAF-2007 including deuteron- and proton-induced activation data to enable calculations on IFMIF. Further code development on MCSEN for reactor applications towards ITER. Benchmarking of recent EFF evaluations such as Pb and V. Activity measurements on for example Cr and La. Experiments on the Helium Cooled Lithium-Lead blanket concept are planned to follow the HCPB measurements. EAF-2007, Prague 2-4 Oct, 2006 NEA Nuclear Data Services, H. Henriksson 25
26 JEFF-3.1 feedback and outlook Recent feedback of the neutron library include: (Trivial) format errors, (e.g. 23 Na and 240 Pu) Too many data points for certain processing codes ( 52 Cr) Inconsistencies between total and partial cross sections ( 57 Fe) Discontinuity for the resonance regions ( 58 Co) New evaluations on photonuclear data have been proposed from the CEA. Evaluations of delayed neutron data for photo-fission. New evaluated 235 U and 238 U files to be ready soon. EAF-2007, Prague 2-4 Oct, 2006 NEA Nuclear Data Services, H. Henriksson 26
27 NEA collections of integral experiments Independent verification and validation using quality assurance methods International benchmark exercises, workshops and meetings Integral Experiments for code and Data Validation: SINBAD (radiation shielding & dosimetry) ICSBEP (criticality experiments for fuel cycle facilities) IRPhE (reactor physics experiments) IFPE (Fuel performance experiments) EAF-2007, Prague 2-4 Oct, 2006 NEA Nuclear Data Services, H.
