24 Summary Material innovators and designers can play a vital role in developing products that can encourage the consumer to head outdoors, while enhancing their health & wellbeing during and following exercise There are many exciting and innovative textiles already out there but we need to accelerate the innovation agenda to produce more bio-based materials and finishes, which are suitable for a circular design strategy (i.e. durable, reusable and fully recyclable or biodegradable) In order to create innovative performance fabrics and clothing that can truly improve the wearer s health & wellbeing, we need to work together across industries and skill-sets to re-think and re-invent raw materials, textile & garment manufacture and colouring & finishing processes
