4 CONCEPT & IDEAS Inspired by surrealism, the new D-due collection for the coming winter is immersed in the world of dreams and firmly approaches to the iconography of René Magritte paintings. Alfred Hitchcock s Spellbound and Sigmund Freud s The Interpretation of Dreams ilustrated the creative path, providing very revealing data on which to construct the convenient environment. 11 All the D-due creative work revolves around the process, which is understood as an artistic experience. Each graphic element represented has a strong plastic component that shows the essence of the brand. The garments in this collection constitute the support for the narration and they are used as a painters canvas. 14 In the 40 s, Magritte work adopts a palette and brush-stroke more typical of impresionist painters, leaving the precision and realistic apperance of his more famous paintings. Magritte poses many paintings of this period over geometric figures that remind plaid fabrics. 16 A painting of a road at nightfall serves as background to recreate an oneiric atmosphere. A man s shape is silhoutted on it. The result is a disquieting space that evokes surrealistic places.
