2 Skultuna 1607 Skultuna was founded in the year 1607 by King Karl IX of Sweden as a brass foundry. Today Skultuna is one of the oldest companies in the world and it is still a purveyor to the Royal Court of Sweden. For over 400 years, Skultuna has produced objects of the highest quality for both everyday use and for special occasions. Always with that same sense of everlasting quality and design. 4 SKULTUNA BRAND HISTORY Skultuna was founded by King Karl IX of Sweden on the 11th of February This is the dated order to the local magistrate to set up the foundry. Skultuna starts working with the designer Carl Hjalmar Norrström, one of the most recognized designers at the time. The designs are made in the ruling historical eclectic style. The original dated order to set up the foundry on February 11th 1607 is found in the State Archives, the logotype is changed to Skultuna Skultuna changes owner to the present one and starts the work with new design collaborations. Designers such as Olof Kolte, Claesson Koivisto Rune and Thomas Sandell start working for Skultuna. Until 1922 this was believed to be the founding year, therefore the logotype read Skultuna 1611 up until The first big fire hit Skultuna, it devastated most of the factory. There were similar fires in 1780 and in Carl Hjalmar Norrström won the Gold medal at the World Expo in Paris for a magnificent baptizing font The Silversmith Pierre Forssell was employed. He contributed with fabulous products during the 1950s, 60s, and 70s. His designs are very much characterized as Scandinavian of that time The old and classic Crown cufflink is made in eight new colors, the start of the Fashion Accessories collection The new women s fashion accessories with enamel patterns are launched The extreme spring flood in 1818 swept away most of the factory Carl Hjalmar Norrström designs brass objects in the new style Art Nouveau Skultuna turns 400-years, Crown Princess Victoria visits Skultuna and inaugurates a memorial over the founder King Karl IX Back to Copper; a century ago Skultuna produced a large number of products in copper, in 2015 Skultuna released a number of the present home collection in copper again.
