Since then it has grown into the largest independent jewellery training centre in the UK and we now run 100s of regular classes throughout the year including evening, weekend and midweek courses for adults. We also run very popular jewellery parties for both adults and children and also work closely with the local councils to deliver jewellery classes in schools and libraries in and around London. With over 30 world-class tutors and more than 100 different classes to choose from there is something at the school for everyone! We welcome all ages and abilities and pride ourselves in creating a friendly and professional atmosphere in which to learn. All our classes are run from our studio in London s Hatton Garden. 4 helpful information We sell jewellery-making supplies too! From beading and wire and metal clay we have something for everyone. Private Tuition Can t make one of our scheduled classes? Want to make a specific piece of jewellery? Need one-on-one tuition? Then our private tuition sessions may be for you. The cost is 350 per day, which includes basic materials. Please do contact us for full details and to book. Gift Vouchers Treat someone you love to the very special gift of jewellery making. It s fun, relaxing and you will never need to buy them jewellery again! Our gift vouchers are sent out within 2 days by first class Royal Mail in a lovely gift envelope along with our full school brochure for them to flick through and choose their ideal class. Use our Studios If you don t have enough room at home or don t have all the tools and resources to make your jewellery why not come and use our studio? From silver, glass and metal clay to resin and beading, you can use the space for almost anything you like for just 30 per day. Please check with us that we have the tools you need and bring along your own consumables (e.g. beads, silver, glass etc ) and make yourself at home. Kiln Rental You can use our kilns for firing metal clay and glass. If you have made some pieces and would like us to kiln fire them for you then simply drop them in to the studio and arrange a time to pick them up. Price is just 10 per full kiln. There are no fixed appointments for any of the above, just contact us to check availability and book a space. 6 7

We have a fully trained, professional jeweller who will guide and support you through making your own, personal rings. You choose the design and metal from a wide selection including white gold, yellow gold, palladium etc... and we will help you create them. No previous experience is necessary. This 1-Day workshop is held upon arrangement at a time that suits you. Once you have booked, we arrange a consultation with you to look over the designs and styles. Then all you have to do is turn up on the day and make your rings! Beginners Wire Wrapping Learn the age-old technique of wire wrapping. A fantastic way of showing off shaped stones with no soldering or gluing required. You will learn to twist and interlock wire to create unique statement pieces to take home with you. Intermediate Wire Wrapping This intermediate level class covers more complex wire wrapping techniques and structures including making bracelets and more complex rings and pendants. This is a perfect follow on from our Beginners Wire Wrapping course and builds upon basic techniques. Our expert tutor will guide you through basics of peyote stitch, brick stitch and right angle weave. Great class not to be missed! Using right angle weave, peyote stitch and herringbone stitch, you will build on existing bead weaving skills and introduce fantastic new beading methods into your work. Tutors: Penny Akester Dates: 24th March Wire Knitting In this great new class you will make a knitted wire cuff with beads that you can complete in a day. You will be taught how to knit with wire, cast on, knit beads into your design, cast off and how to attach a secure clasp to finish your piece professionally. Please note, to take this class you need to know how to knit and be familiar with Knit stitch and Purl stitch. Aimed at those with some previous experience in PMC or Art Clay, it is highly recommended to anyone looking to combine metal clay with beading. Often, the choice of silver beads in the bead shops is very limited, making your own is a fun and creative alternative. Tutors: Emma Ashworth Dates: 6th Feb, 28th March Ring Making in Metal Clay This is an intermediate level class where you will learn to make a range of different style rings in metal clay. Throughout the day you will have a chance to make three different rings including: a nesting ring with two parts that fit together like a puzzle, a ring in fine silver wire combined with metal clay and a stone set ring. Stone Setting in Metal Clay This is an intermediate level metal clay class where you can learn to work with stones and glass in your metal clay. Throughout the day you will learn techniques for setting natural stones, glass cabochons, Cubic Zirconias and much more. Tutors: Emma Ashworth or Debbie Carlton Dates: 8th Jan, 10th March Adding Colour to Metal Clay Learn two lovely ways of adding colour to metal clay in this fantastic new class! All students will begin by making two pieces of simple metal clay jewellery (usually a pendant and pair of earrings). In the afternoon you will learn how to add resin and polymer clay to your pieces as an excellent way of adding colour to your creations. No previous experience is necessary, as we will start from the basics. Students who have previous experience in metal clay may be able to make more complex pieces. 12 metal clay metal clay Advanced Metal Clay (2 Days) This is an advanced level 2 day class aimed at those with experience working in metal clay that are looking to take their work to the next level. This class is fairly flexible in terms of what you will make and you are encouraged to bring your own ideas. You will spend two days experimenting and learning how to bring your ideas to life. Our expert tutor will support you through your projects and give plenty of useful tips and hints along the way. Price: Tutors: Emma Ashworth Dates: 9th-10th Feb, 18th-19th April Texture Making for Metal Clay Learn to make your own textures from pictures, printouts and much more! This is a great class where our expert tutor Julia Rai will guide you through a range of processes for making your own texture tiles and plates. Perfect for use with metal clay, polymer clay and many other areas of jewellery making. Beginners Metal Clay Evening Class This Beginners Metal Clay class gives you a chance to work with a fantastic material that produces great results. Each week we will be working towards making a new piece of beautiful silver jewellery that you can take home with you. Projects covered include: textured earrings, a wrap over ring, a stone set pendant, syringe pendant, basic bead making and much more. Skills covered include setting a natural stone, lentil bead making, adding gold to your work and using glass with metal clay. During the day you will make at least one finished piece of silver jewellery to take home with you. Small class sizes allow great tuition a fun class not to be missed! Examples of some of the pieces made on this course include: rings with multiple solder joins, cuffs with pierced detail, bangles and domed pieces. Tutors: Michael Milloy, Melissa Hunt, Elizabeth Bone or Zoe Harding Dates: 9th Jan, 31st Jan, 25th Feb, 11th March, 27th March, 15th April, 28th April Advanced Silver Jewellery (2 Days) This course is perfect for jewellers working in silver who would like to develop their skills with the support of one of our expert tutors. Small class sizes allow plenty of one-on-one time with the tutor to learn new techniques. This class is fairly flexible in terms of what you can make and students are encouraged to bring their own ideas for advanced level projects or techniques that they would like to learn over the two days. Soldering Masterclass Soldering is one of the most challenging but essential skills when working in silver. To help you get to grips with all the techniques we have a special masterclass focusing on soldering. Techniques covered include: soldering multiple joins on the same piece, soldering in awkward places and troubleshooting. This is an intermediate level class but we will start from the basics of soldering and work to your level. Tutors: Elizabeth Bone, Michael Milloy or Rebecca Steiner Dates: 20th Jan, 19th Feb, 13th March, 13th April Stone Setting in Silver (2 Days) This is an intensive 2-day class that will take your silver jewellery to the next level. You will learn a range of different stone settings including a simple rub over setting, a tube setting and a basic gypsy set. This is an intensive intermediate level class so come prepared! It will really move your work on leaps and bounds and promises not to disappoint. All materials including stones and silver will be provided. Techniques covered in this class include: making your own jump rings in different shapes and sizes, soldering jump rings, texturing links and experimenting with different chain designs from small and intricate to chunky and statement. Chains can be worn alone or can be used to enhance other jewellery by adding beads, pendants and charms. Silver Etching Lean how to etch images, text or patterns on to silver in our new silver etching class. Etching is the process of creating shallow markings in silver using an acid and a resist. It is a great way of adding patterns or text and can also be seen under transparent enamels. During the day you will make 2 3 etched pieces to take home, as well as the health and safety aspects of etching and how to carry on using the technique at home. Tutors: Gill Newton or Melissa Hunt Dates: 23rd Jan, 14th March, 2nd April Beginners Chain Maille Chain maille is the technique of linking jump rings to make patterns and weaves that can be used to make stunning pieces of jewellery. In this fun and interactive beginners class students will learn how to make their own jump rings, learn and practise a range of different chain maille patterns, experiment with different materials including silver, copper and coloured rubber links and will have the chance to make a finished chain to take home. A popular class with great results! Tutors: Jessica Rose or TBC Dates: 29th Jan, 24th Feb, 22nd April Intermediate Chain Maille Take your chain maille work to the next level with this intermediate class. Skills covered include how to make complex chain maille patterns, incorporating stones and beads into your chain maille work and creating cages and 3-dimentional structures. Tutors: Melissa Hunt Dates: 4th Jan, 2nd March, 29th April Cold Connections When the use of heat and soldering isn t possible, it is good to know how to combine metal using cold connections. In this intensive 1-day course you will learn a variety of techniques for attaching metal and materials together using rivets, tabs and screws. This is a techniques based class so the focus is not on making finished pieces but on learning new technical skills. Tutors: Gill Newton or Melissa Hunt Dates: 30th Jan, 26th Feb, 12th April Make Your Own Findings Learn how to make your own findings in this intensive 1-day class. Making your own earwires, clasps and jump rings opens up so many possibilities in terms of design when compared to using bought findings and can really help to make your jewellery unique.
