As you will see in the photos there has been plenty of different activities this month and there are some fabulous photos, its lovely to see so many of you getting involved in activities Hope you enjoy this month s newsletter. Middlesbrough Football match We try to get an understanding of our residents, finding out about their life story and getting to know the things they would really like to do via our Wishing Well scheme so that we can help to make their wishes a reality. Alan s Wishing Well was to see Middlesbrough Football club play again so we liaised with Middlesbrough Football club to make this possible. 5

11 Food Glorious Food Last month we had reminiscence tastes and smell`s past and present a chance for our residents to sample a variety of old fashioned sweeties and scents along with a modern selection. This activity went down a treat allowing residents to reminisce and creating an interesting conversation topic. Our next food themed event: 31 st October Halloween chocolate fountain Arts and crafts

The Welsh for October is Hydref (originally Hyddfref), a word signifying the lowing of cattle. Octobers birth stone is the Opal A bit of housekeeping Please can all our new resident`s families and Friends check all belongings; clothing, ornaments and photo frames are all named and room numbers have been stitched in clothing and marker pens used for ornaments etc., as we have a lot of un named items of clothing in our laundry if you have any concerns about these please see our head housekeeper Edna Thank you.

14 In the spotlight We put Jean in the spot light this month [Where were you born]? Northallerton [What is your favorite activity at Leeming Bar Grange]? I love when the animals come in; I like to see all the different creatures. I also enjoy the quizzes and when live singers come in [What jobs have you had]? I worked in Claphams store, It sold everything from Millinery to bedding, I worked in the drapery department [What can you tell me about your family?] I married Clifford in 1946 at Brompton church; I wore a white satin dress my sister made for me. We had two children Jill and Heather [What do you like most about living at Leeming Bar Grange?] The staff. Nothing is too much trouble for any one; I haven t a bad word to say about any of them. They are all so patient, kind and caring.
