WORK EXPERIENCE: TEXTILE DESIGN: To date I have more than 18 years of experience in carpet design. I started my career in textile design at Burtco Ent. Inc. with C.Y.P. tufting machines (Tapistron machines). The design program I learned to use for this job was Texcel N.T. from Nedgraphics. My job at Burtco required me to do textile designs for all types of hospitality accounts - Major Resorts, Hotels and Casinos around the world. My design experience there was primarily with Rugs, Borders and Broadloom Carpet patterns. I also worked very closely with the developers of the Cut and Loop attachment for the Tapistron machine from its earliest stages. I also have a very good working relationship with the other major tufting machine companies in the industry - Tuftco, CMC & Cobble. Since my time at Burtco I was employed by Beaulieu of America as their Senior Designer for their residential Division. Beaulieu offered me the design position there after doing a project with Burtco that I headed up. Many other doors and opportunities with even larger companies and bigger projects opened up since those days. I have done a wide range of project types even worked as a Beta tester and adviser on product development with Wilcom / Tecos on their Textile design software Mira. I have worked with programmers and done demonstrations and training with the software. I am currently an ambassador for Mira and still assist with product support & demonstrations. I also have experience in advertising and image development for many different types of businesses as well as experience in successfully presenting new products to major accounts such as Lowes and Home Depot. I work well in team situations as well as alone. I am self-motivated and a self-starter. I have been in management positions since the age of 19 and have owned 3 successful businesses of my own. STUDY OF ART & PHOTOGRAPHY: I started the study of Art in the 6th grade of elementary school and by the time I reached High School was the only 9th grade student in independent study (Advanced Art) at Dalton High School. I also have a wide variety of art experience to draw from for designs - I have a full Blacksmith shop. I do Stained Glass, Pottery, Paint in oil, acrylics, Watercolors and I am also an Internationally Published Professional Photographer. COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN: I have over 20 years of experience with design programs such as Corel Draw and Corel Photo- Paint from the third edition through the fourteenth edition, also Adobe Photoshop and others. 1
WORK HISTORY: 2014-Present ASK Flooring & Wellington Carpet Mills Product Development Manager & Senior Designer Getting two new sister companies off the ground at the same time, while developing and assisting in putting together their full set of initial offerings. ASK is a flooring company (www.justaskflooring.com) that targets Specifiers and Designers and Wellington Carpet Mills (www.wellingtoncarpetmills.com) is a Wool Broadloom Carpet and high recycled content AEGIS Nylon Carpet Tile company. Here I do everything from custom carpet and rug designs to working with suppliers and manufactures of raw materials and goods to supply the company s needs. My business, design and photography skills have all been put to use here, from negotiating prices to finding ways to make a great initial impression for the companies. Whether it was approving samples, following things through production, product testing and so much more I have touched or been in charge of at least part of most every aspect of these new companies at some point. 2012-2014 Mohawk Ind. Residential Division Product Development Product Development Manager & Senior Designer I was in charge of product development and patterned designs for the largest tufted carpet manufacturer in the world, as well as some Main Street commercial projects. My job description included a wide range of responsibilities from designing new carpet patterns to testing out new machinery and finding ways to leverage new technology to advance Mohawks interest and goals. While at Mohawk I developed a pattern catalog with thousands of designs with a multitude of tufting machinery in mind that could be used as a source for new patterns as well as a spring board & template for development of new projects & designs. I taught Designers that were new to carpet design how to use Nedgraphics textile design programs to not only draw patterns but also output usable machine files for samples and production tufting machines. In this position I worked with everything from the latest tufting technology to ChromoJet printed patterns. Each day I worked hand in hand with every department in the process of development of new styles from initial concept to reviewing the new products for approvals at finishing. My 3D design skills were used to lay out and redesign the design offices and display area as well as many other projects. 2
My photography skills were called on at Mohawk for a variety of projects from product photos to photos to be used for display in booths at trade shows showing step by step processes. At every company I have worked with I have helped and assisted anywhere my skill set allowed. 2003-2011 Beaulieu - USA Inc. Residential Division Product Development - Senior Designer / Stylist Senior Designer, in charge of product development and patterned designs for the third largest tufted carpet manufacturer in the world and the largest privately owned mill. I was responsible for developing and overseeing new running line designs and styles for residential products primarily, all though I did a large amount of commercial products for certain divisions of Beaulieu. My responsibilities ran from the initial concept through the actual design, development of running line as well as specialty products, color work, CAD prints all the way to actually being the one that enters the patterns into the tufting machines, setting up the pile heights and approving the initial test runs of new products. I supervise the design and coordinate projects through the design process. I was also responsible for setting up the initial pilot run as well as checking that the new finished products are up to standard and I was often found on the coater approving new products. I worked with the Tufting departments on training to better equip their employees to operate the enhanced features of the tufting machines, solve problems and find ways to increase production. I even supervised the R&D department dye lab in interim to keep projects on schedule as well as overseeing special projects such as chemical trials. I also did concept advertising art, 3D renderings and design displays for Beaulieu as well as advertising photography, even product photos for Home Depot s and Lowes websites. I was also the Safety Coordinator for the R&D department. I was responsible for safety and first aid training for R&D. 1998-2003 Burtco Ent. Inc. Senior Designer I was responsible for new carpet & rug designs, redesigns of existing Patterns, making production disk to run the tufting machines, approving production runs, handling communications between scheduling and production, coordinate and prepare sample runs and did advertising photography for the company. I also handled computer problems and the network for the tufting facility. 3

I ran Laboratory & Production trials, supplied technical information and was in charge of Advertising design and layout. 1987-2002 H 2 O Pets Plus - Owner A full line pet store in operation for 16 years.
