RRWS, GUESTS ARE PO ALWAYS Box 1656 WELCOME! Fargo, ND, 58107-1656. DIANE JOHNSON, EDITOR RRWS MONTHLY NEWSLETTER President s letter Hello Everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I know I ate too much and then felt guilty about it (well, a little). Hopefully, between these 2 large holidays, there will be time to paint. Motivation can be a problem for us artists at times. But as Roger Ebert said, "if your muse doesn't show up, start without her." I like this quote, because it reminds me to create, even though I may be too tired, cranky, or overwhelmed (fill in the blank). If I just sit down and start painting, using my left brain, eventually the path will lead to that sacred area, the right brain, and the satisfaction will be there from creating. At our last general membership meeting, we elected four new officers. They are: Dave Olson, president, and as directors: Emily Hilgers, Paula McGuinty and Barbara Deraas. We are thrilled to have you as part of our new leadership team. We are also happy that our secretary, Darline Sween, and our treasurer, Phyllis Lincoln, are staying on the board. Deep gratitude to the outgoing directors, Donna Chalimonczyk and Diane Johnson. It will be an exciting year! Happy painting, Cathi Koenig RRWS, Interim President HOLIDAY PARTY December 9th at 6pm note time. Many of us in the Midwest are looking forward to spending time painting in our studios this winter. We would really enjoy seeing what you are creating and share it with our national viewers. Please plan on entering our 2015 exhibition. This year the committee has gone to extra effort to make are exhibit available for entry through Café, a website that notifies artists of and accepts entries of upcoming juried exhibitions from participating organizations. Once you set up an account it makes it very easy to enter any show offered on their online platform. You can easily add available digital images of your work to your portfolio, then select your best entry available for a particular contest, make payment and keeps a record of your entries.
