The meeting was a welcome to new members and a social for everyone... members and guests. There was a very good attendance and great food provided by all! It was so nice to see Valley Art friends who we haven't seen in a while! Janie's talk with framing tips was very helpful and much appreciated by everyone in attendance. Thanks to Janie and everyone who participated! Please try to attend the February meeting on February 28th. Our guest speaker will be Mary Ann Burke, Executive Director of the Washington County Arts Council. Hope to see you soon! Given the joys of travel to and from downtown D.C., recommend going via the early MARC train from Martinsburg (or other stations in the area) to Union Station. It is an easy 1 mile walk (or shared taxi) from Union Station to the NGA. This program is free and open to the public, but advance registration is required due to limited space. Registration opens on the Tuesday prior to the start of a new topic. These workshops are repeated. Please register for one date per topic. All drawing materials are provided. Ages 18 and over. Life-drawing at the Mansion House: Weekly three hour life-drawing sessions on Friday mornings began in January, 10 am to 1 pm except as noted. Feb. 2: female model, 9-12. No session on Feb. 9.
