WRITING YOUR NARRATIVE 4-H FASHION REVUE GENERAL IDEAS: 1. Tips on writing your script: Write out your rough draft on a separate sheet of paper and then write a final draft. Write very clearly or print. If you need help, get ideas from the description on your pattern envelope. Look on the back for the fashion words that describe your garment, or look in a mail order catalog or fashion magazine. 2. Include the following: Along with your name include, a description of the garment you made or purchased as your exhibit, information on type of fibers in the fabric and other items of interest-such as garment care, cost, occupation to be worn, any new experiences or learning about it, and any other factors that were important to you about this garment. 3. Keep your script short. Please write complete sentences. Read them aloud to yourself, to check if they sound okay. Be as creative as possible, so it won t be the same as someone else. Vary where you include your name and club. EXAMPLES: Sally Williams is dressed for summer sports activities. She has made both the red cotton pants and the red and white shirt. Shoes for action sports complete her outfit. The design on the shirt was silk-screen printed by Sally as part of her Crafts and Fine Arts project. Brett Sanderson is ready for sports events in his vest. The face fabric is nylon sport cloth and the lining is lighter weight nylon. Thinsulate, a specialized insulating fiber, is used inside the vest. The cotton-polyester skirt modeled by Amy Jo Scott is a purchased garment coordinated with a heart-designed sweater that was a birthday gift. Her skirt goes with two other tops, which is a guideline Amy uses when shopping for clothes for her wardrobe. Sally Sommers has made a wool blend, two-piece suit. Her blazer jacket features speed tailoring techniques and welt pockets. She used a press-on non-woven interfacing in the jacket and skirt waistband. The jacket is fully lined. The skirt features front tucks.
