Friction Test Description The friction test consists in measuring the slipperiness of a surface in both static and dynamic friction conditions. The scheme hereafter shows the device used to drive this test: Test apparatus : FSC 2000 Print by Vertrieb Sellmaier Electronic, Barystrasse 1, D-81245 München The friction test has been driven according to following requirements : Test 1 : James Friction Tester (SCOF1), Equivalent Reading, 5 sec Test Test 2 : Dynamic COF, 5 sec test, 6 in distance Test 3 : Flying Start Dynamic COF, 5 sec test, 6 in distance The test results are then compared to the following evaluation scale to determine the slip resistance of the surface : Test measurements Slip resistance > 0.64 Very Good 0.43 0.63 Good 0.30 0.42 Fair 0.22 0.29 Poor 0.00 0.21 Very Poor Tests results Following table contains the average results of the measurements made on Nomad Modular 8300 Tiles (scrapers only): Test #1 #2 #3 Average 0.65 0.49 0.65 Minimum 0.62 0.47 0.63 Maximum 0.67 0.50 0.67 Slip resistance Very Good Good Very Good Test conclusion Considering the tests results, the slip resistance of Nomad Modular 8300 tiles can be considered as Good and even Very Good Slip Resistance. The Nomad 8900 Tiles are produced with a textile part that is considered as non-slippery. 3 B&CSD Tech Service Slipperiness of Nomad Modular Page 2 on 13

Silp Resistance Test - DIN51130 Description The tests are conducted on an adjustable inclined plane on which the floor coatings to be tested are applied. To determine the anti-slip level of the floor tiles, they will be inspected by walking on the tiles with safety shoes. To increase skid risks, oil with a viscosity of 10W30 is added. The inclination angle where the limit of safe walking by the test person is reached will be used for the classification of the floor type in one of the five anti-slip categories (abbreviation R). The different categories from R9 to R13 (see table 1) will serve as a standard for the degree of anti-slip. Apart from the anti-slip test, for an uneven underground, the hollow space between the tread surface and the underground will also be tested according to the DIN 51 130 standards. This hollow space for floor tiles and plates is determined at V4 to V 10 with intermittent volume increases every cm 3 /dm². Anti-slip tiles with hollow spaces will always be indicated with the corresponding classification of the degree of anti-slip, whereby the classification group is mentioned fist followed by the hollow space (ex. R13/V10). Table 1 - Table 2 Hollow space table Cat. Angle Slope R 9 3-10 R 10 10-19 R 11 19-27 R 12 27-35 R 13 35 + Cat. V 4 V 6 V 8 V 10 Hollow space 4 cm 3 /dm² 6 cm 3 /dm² 8 cm 3 /dm² 10 cm 3 /dm² Requirements According to the DIN51130 norm and the German BGR181 requirements: Work areas R 9 - Slaughter houses R 13 V 10 Garages R 10 - Schools R 9-3 B&CSD Tech Service Slipperiness of Nomad Modular Page 3 on 13

Surfaces in category R9 (ex. lobbies, sales outlets) have the lowest degree of anti-slip and those of category R13 have the highest. When required or existing, the volume of the hollow space must at least be superior to 4cm 3 /dm². Certificates Anti-slip tests are carried out in Germany, by the Institut für Arbeitssicherheit (BIA). (= Institute for Labor Safety) in St Augustin and by the Sâurefliesner Vereinigung e.v in Grossburgwedel. Both Nomad Modular 8300 tiles and 8900 tiles have been tested, leading to following results: Product Modular 8300 Modular 8900 Classification R11 / V10 R11 / V10 Certificates are available in the appendix. Test conclusion Considering the tests results and the German requirements, the Nomad Modular 8300 and 8900 tiles are suitable for Entrances, Lobbies, Sales outlets 3 B&CSD Tech Service Slipperiness of Nomad Modular Page 4 on 13

Pendulum Test Description The Pendulum test consists in measuring the friction between a skidding skate and wet surface, by simulating a slipping foot on a wet floor. The tests have been driven on dry and wet surfaces, on new and worn tiles. The worn tiles are 8 month old at a traffic level from 3000 to 4000 pedestrians per day. These worn tiles have been sampled in Royal Victoria Place Shopping Center, owned by Westfield in Tunbridge Wells, UK. The measurements have been done according to British Standard 7976-2002, and the UK Slip Resistance Group Requirements. According to the UKSRG Guideleines, Pendulum results are interpreted: PTV * High slip potential 0 24 Moderate slip potential 25 35 Low slip potential 36 + *: Pendulum Test Value Test results Test results have been summarized in following table : Nomad Modular tiles New worn #1 worn #2 Dry Wet Dry Wet Dry Wet Average 1.10 0.70 1.05 0.58 1.05 0.59 Std dev 0.02 0.03 0.02 0.02 0.01 0.03 min 1.08 0.65 1.01 0.55 1.02 0.55 max 1.13 0.75 1.08 0.60 1.07 0.65 Testing conditions: water temperature: 16 C Nb of measurements: 12 Test conclusion According to the tests results, the Nomad Modular Tiles, even worn, can be considered as a Low Slip Potential surface. 3 B&CSD Tech Service Slipperiness of Nomad Modular Page 5 on 13

Conclusion The slipperiness of Nomad Modular Tiles has been tested through three different methods: o Friction Test o DIN 51130 Test and o Pendulum Test The two first tests have been driven on new tiles, and the Pendulum test has been driven on new and worn Nomad Modular tiles All these tests conclude that the new tiles have at least a good slip resistance, that these tiles can be installed in entrances, lobbies and other public area, that the slip potential surface is low. Even worn, the slip potential is considered as low. Olivier MENGES Tech Service Matting & Traction 3 B&CSD June 17 th, 2008 3 B&CSD Tech Service Slipperiness of Nomad Modular Page 6 on 13
