News in and around Windmill Manor Summertime is here Residents and Staff at Windmill Manor have been enjoying the glorious Summer weather. Fund Raising Monday 12 th June Friday 16 th June we held several fundraising events in aid of Barhester Charitable Fundation and Dementia First. By the end of the week we raised a total of 257.50. On Tuesday some of the staff were wearing their pyjamas for a Big Breakfast, the following day we had a cake baking competition and the week concluded with the Open Day which was a Day at the Races, many residents, visitors and staff wearing glamorous hats, enjoying great entertainment and refreshments in the garden. We also held a raffle and some fantastic prizes were handed out to the lucky winners.

Independence Day Celebrations The 4 th July, Independence Day was a great event at Windmill Manor, entertainment was held in the garden, where we also had a line dancing session followed by a barbeque dinner. Garden Party Our Garden Party which started off in the garden with drinks and nibbles, concluded in the ground floor lounge with a classical guitar / violin concert turned out to be a great success. Residents, relatives and visitors all enjoyed a fantastic classical musical repertoire presented by the Ruskin Ensemble, who brought along many other small, hand held musical instruments, enabling our residents to join in the fun.

Special Thank You s: We would like to say a special Thank You to all the shops, restaurants and businesses who donated prizes for our raffle: Morrisons, Oxted Cinema, Lingfield Race Course, Oxted Inn, Pizza Express, Knights Garden Centre, Beauty Box, Oxted Florist, Café Nero, Health Food Shop, Lorrimer s, Boots, Louise our hairdresser. Thank you for all the relatives, friends, special visitors who came along to our Open Day in order to help to raise funds for Barchester Charitable Fundation and also for everyone who contributed to our raffle by buying tickets. We would also like to say a very special Thank You to all staff at Windmill Manor for taking part and supporting the 10-60-6 project. We have now been accredited on Memory Lane, this means that we specialise in caring for people living with dementia.
