You can buy the best raw hides, use the best chemicals to process the leather from beam house to end re-tanning and fat liquoring with updated technology, but when it comes to the buffing process before the final finishing, you can upgrade, or down-grade the quality and look of the leather. It is very essential to give extreme attention to the buffing department, because it is there where we create a nice looking leather with clean surface and sell it at high margins, or do a poor buffing job and know you will be selling your leather at breakeven and even loss levels, worst area, you may not even be able to sell the leather at all if the buffing is done poorly enough. 2 - 2 - OUR PRODUCTS FOR LEATHER We wish to offer you the following superb quality buffing papers. Depending on your applications, these products can be used to produce world class buffing work on shoe upper leather, cow hides, sole & belt leather, sheep & goat skins, suede & Nubuk leather; as well as lining, upholstery & automotive leathers. Whatever leather you work with, we have a product (or combination of products) that can improve your buffing quality & efficiency. Below is a brief overview of the primary buffing & burnishing paper types currently in our portfolio. Each type has a unique characteristic or advantage. PS22F ACT: This is an Aluminum Oxide Grain, Resin Bond, with heavy F weight paper backing buffing paper, available in rolls of 610mmx50 meter and all sizes of belts. This product is suitable for the buffing of almost all types of leather, especially for heavy vegetable Tanned Sole leather with a very good mileage and thanks to its strong heavy backing paper it can resist strong pressure on buffing machine, it cleans the leather grain nicely, especially the ones with some defects. PL16E: This is an Aluminum Oxide Grain, Glue Bond with light E-weight paper backing suitable for rolls of 610mmx50 meters. Thanks to its flexible paper backing it seats tight and nicely on the metal buffing cylinders and therefore performs a nice buffing without chutters (lines on the leather grain). Because of its glue bond surface it is very gentle to the grain surface and buffs the leather without scratches. Therefore it is very suitable for fine leathers like Calf Skin, Sheep Skin, Goat Skin, Etc. This type of buffing paper can be used to clean up the small defects of a full grain leather and still retain the look of full grain leather with light semi aniline finishing possibly embossed with a very fine hair cell embossing plate or with rottopress

3 - 3 - PS20F This is an Aluminum Oxide Grain and resin bond with heavy F weight paper backing, suitable for rolls of 610mmx50 meters and for most thanks to its heavy paper backing for all sizes of belts which can resist strong stretch and pressure on the buffing machine to achieve the best possible buffing quality. It is suitable for the buffing of almost all types of leather, especially for greasy type leather grains and also to clean up defective grains with scratches or other defects which you can see mostly on Brazilian or Argentinians crusts. PS22N This is an Aluminum Oxide Grain, Resin Bond with D weight paper backing suitable for rolls of 610mmx50 meters. It is suitable for buffing of all types of leather with a clean buffing effect, and thanks to its flexible D- weight backing the paper wraps and seats on buffing cylinder nicely without any difficulties and time loss and therefore the final buffing effect is excellent. CS34X This is Aluminum Oxide Grain, Resin Bond with very heavy x- weight cloth backing which is water proof and suitable for buffing of very thick and heavy leather like sole leather bends all kinds of vegetable tanned heavy leather like Saddle, Shoulders, Bellies, Belt leather, Handbag leather, Etc Thanks to its water proofing condition it is very suitable for buffing of Wet Blue in Wet condition, after shaving, like for special type of Nubuk leather with nice nap or if a leveling on the flesh side is required in wet blue condition. Thanks to its very strong backing it is suitable for all size belts which can resist the highest pressure on buffing machine without getting exploded. It is also suitable for rolls of 610mmx50 meters and has very good mileage (life).

4 - 4 - PS22S: UNDER-LAYER This is an Aluminum Oxide Grain, Resin Bond with self adhesive paper backing, suitable as under-layer for Gluing to the metal cylinder of buffing machine to allow a tidy operation without glue and without mess, so consequently for nicer operation of buffing process. This under-layer buffing paper allows the original buffing paper to wrap on top and to hold it firmly on the buffing cylinder. This type of self adhesive under-layer paper is going to save your machine operator at least 3-4 hours of his time using this product. Instead of conventional type paper of using messy glue of gluing the under-layer on the buffing cylinder. It can be used easily by wrapping on the metal cylinder thanks to its self adhesive backing and it can also be pilled off very easy in seconds without a mess like the conventional type of gluing under-layer. By using this under-layer it will save and protect the expensive metal cylinder of the buffing machine where it will not be necessary to use a knife to pill off the conventional under-layer BURNISHING PAPER: KL-2000 This is a special treated burnishing paper, suitable to polish and burnishing various types of leather after completion of finishing process or before it. It gives the appearance it had when burnished by the previous generation glazing machines, like a silky type effects. It is a really special product which can give many advantages to the leather grain, also Nubuk leather as well as suede & all type of grain leather. It really upgrades the leather quality. It can eliminate scratches and chattering marks from leather surface. This comes in rolls of 610mmx50 meter & all sizes of belts. NOTE: Please be aware that because of unique process we use making our buffing papers by spraying the aluminum sands on the paper surface electronically, therefore grain surface of our products are very even consequently buffs the leather grain very evenly without any scratches or leaving spots.

5 - 5 - GRIT SIZES: Generally all our buffing papers mentioned in this brochure for leather buffing are available from grit 100 up to 800 grit. For grits coarser than 100 and under, please let us know ahead of time. We will be happy to provide them on time for your use. BELTS & THEIR JOINTS (SEEMS) We make our belts for leather buffing with very fine and delicate overlap joint to buff the leather grain as even & smooth as possible without leaving any scratches, chatters or spots on the leather. The bonding of joints are strong enough to hold any necessary pressure on buffing machine. PRICES: All grits from 100 & finer are the same price, certainly each type of product is priced differently. Grits coarser than 100 are more expensive.

6 - 6 - R E C O M E N D A T I O N S Strongly recommended to perform and provide the followings in order to have the best results and life from KLINGSPOR buffing papers. 1- Prepare a special room to store the buffing paper rolls & belts on the shelves with F = 15-20oc of temperature and 50-65% relative humidity. if the buffing papers are stored at a high temperature than needed they become stiff and brittle, and may crack easily on the machine during usage. If they also stored in too humid than necessary then the sand will get loose and fall off the grain easily and consequently they will yield minimum life. 2- Never store buffing papers on concrete or brick floor. 3- Never store them under direct sun light. 4- Never store them next to heated radiator or hot air blowers. 5- The rolls should be stored vertically, otherwise one side of the roll will flatter from the weight of the roll when stored horizontally and consequently will not sit on the buffing cylinder flush, which will effect the buffing condition and the life of the buffing paper. 6- Hang the buffing belts near the buffing machines 48 huors before usage, so that the room temperature and humidity can get throughout the entire belt equally and to get the best performance and life out of the belts. If portions of the belt have varying dryness or humidity or is not in real even shape, then it will gradually stretch on one side more so than the rest, and consequently it will not buff the entire surface of leather evenly and also will not yield adequate life out of belts. 7- The hanging sleeves should have an approx 2-5 =5-12cm diameter in order to keep the belts in the best shape. 8- Machine operators should be very careful when taking belts out of boxes and during installation on the machine to not break any portion of belts. If a belt is installed on the buffing machine with the smallest of cracks or bends, that part of the belt will be opening during work and will leave marks and scratches on the leather, and will tear off explode on the machine, prior to its normal life span.

7 To install hangers on one side of the roll cutting table. To hang one roll of each different grit there, for longer usage until the entire buffing roll is completely used without time loss of storing the rest of the rolls after cutting the buffing roll for a single usage. This saves time and money. 10- Keep the rolls & belts in the closed carton boxes at all times. 11- Cut the rolls on special wooden cutting tables supplied by the buffing machine manufacturers or recommendations and never on the floor. 10 -10- EXTRAORDINARY NEW BUFFING BELTS & ROLLS FOR LEATHER TYPE: PS23F ACT We have recently developed an extraordinary buffing belt & roll material called PS23F Act. unmatched in performance to any competing product on the market. Its advantages are outlined as follows: With ordinary paper you buff: A) Approximately 700 sides of the dry leather per belt & roll. With our new PS23F material you may buff 2500 sides and yet it remains unclogged and in good enough shape for further use. B) The truly heavy (greasy or waxy) leather you buff with ordinary papers will yield only 400 sides at maximum. Our PS23F paper will allow outstanding quality buffing of a minimum of 2,000 sides and still remain resilient enough for more. C) With this paper you may easily rebuff returned leather without worry of rapid clogging as occurs always with ordinary papers.
