4 BODY SKIN FACTS There are over 3 million skin cells on every square centimetre of your body billions and billions of cells in all, each one vital to your body s health and wellbeing. Skin is responsible for holding good things, like water and nutrients, inside your body and for keeping bad things out. That includes germs and other environmental stressors and impurities. But we may neglect our body skin especially on the hands, neck, and chest area which can influence how young we look to the rest of the world. Poorly hydrated body skin looks dull and lacklustre. In addition to appearing red, patchy or crepey, it can feel rough and may be flaky. Nutrients and other nourishing ingredients are as vital for body skin as they are for facial skin.
