This a very low maintenance light makeup look that is perfect for work. I would generally stick with matt colours in natural tones browns, beige, creams, pale pink when creating this look but it depends on your personal preference. Night Makeup this can be created using much darker more dramatic and highly pigmented eye shadows, heavier eye liner and more contrast between the highlighted and contoured areas. Because is it that bit more dramatic and stands out more it works great in darker environments! Fashion Makeup These looks are typically much more out there this can be in a more dramatic high colour way or in a much more neutral way, this will depend on the nature of the occasion if it is high end fashion, editorial, ect. Not usually suitable for wearing in a real life situation but again this is down to personal preference Bridal Makeup A mix between Natural Day Makeup and Night time makeup this makeup will be applied relatively heavily to allow for longevity but done so in a natural looking way. Strong colours are usually avoided so that the makeup doesn t stand out more than the hair or dress. The bride s natural beauty should be highlighted and let shine through Special effects Using prosthetics and specifically manufactured makeup, the bone structure, skin colour and texture can be altered beyond recognition using the correct skills, tools and techniques that will result in a various assortment of looks.

3 Things to consider Pigment and Colour Intensity the amount of colour pigment within a product will determine the colour intensity of it Primer similar to the primer used for your foundation, it will increase the longevity of your eyeshadow and will intensify the colour pigment. Matt shadows for maturing skin types & metallic and shimmers work really well on Darker skin types Eyeliner options Kohl and Kajal liner are both made from different ingredients but they will both allow for softer appearance and have less dragging on the skin. Ensure pencils are sharpened for precision and hygiene reasons Kajal Liner also gives a soft appearance than kohl with a matt powder finish Liquid liner more dramatic intense precise lines, available in a wide variety of brush types and styles Gel liner typically comes in a pot and is applied using a very thin sharply slighted brush. Very intense highly defined lines Steps for the Perfect Eyebrows (These steps can also be used with a stencil as well) Brush your brows upwards and into shape with your eyebrow comb Using your pencil underline your eyebrow Define the ends and using feathery motions enhance the start of your eyebrows (the inner side of your brows) Lightly line along the top of your brow Fill in using powder and slanted brush Once they are filled in brush through to disperse product evenly this will make them look naturally defined If you feel they look too dark or heavy just take a cotton bud and wipe over them gently until you are happy Once you are happy with the colour intensity you can set them in place. I usually use a clear wax so as not to mix too many colours and it is softer looking than a gel

4 Lips Will finish off and complete your makeup look. Tinted Lip Balm Nourishing ingredients like shea butter, Minimal pigment so won t last as long and frequent reapplication will be necessary Lip Liner - Increases longevity of lip products and will create more luscious sumptuous lips. Lip Gloss finishes the look with High gloss finish, similarly to tinted balm it has Less pigment than lipstick so will need to be reapplied regularly Lipstick - High pigment products with various finishes and increased longevity. This product will give the most dramatic of appearances Myths Makeup causes acne Myth If you cleanse properly, good quality makeup but wrong products can aggravate it Dry skin drink water Myth Dry skin Skin doesn t produce enough sebum. Dehydrated Skin Skin is lacking in water. Drinking water won t do any harm to dry skin but you will require a moisturiser that will replace the sebum that your skin isn t producing enough of Creams that work like Botox - Myth Botox is a toxin injected into the hypodermis working with the nerve endings to cut them off from functioning and inhibiting the muscles so you can t make as many facial expressions like frowning. Creams only work on the top layers of the skin so they can t work in the same way Toothpaste as a spot cure - Myth Menthol dries out the skin surroundings the area without doing anything to clear the spot as it has no antibacterial qualities it will just leave you with red skin that dried out! There are some spot treatments that are specifically designed to do this will increase cell turnover and therefore be much more effective Vaseline & Baby Oil in skin and lip care

5 The more you use the more you feel you need as it will sit on the skin like a layer of plastic disrupting the natural barrier function. It prevents absorption of other nutrients and it will actually draw moisture out of the skin having the opposite affect that we are looking for. Tips & Tricks Caring for your Makeup Brushes is vitally important and not doing so will lead to breakouts, it can also interfere with how your makeup looks and how long your brushes actually last. 1. Warm water cold won t break up all the dirt and grime and hot will interfere with the glue holding the bristles in place 2. Mild shampoo baby shampoo is perfect 3. Swirl brush on hand and rinse out thoroughly 4. Lay flat to dry on a towel 5. Once a week if working with strong pigments I would recommend washing straight after Flying Tips Apply serum and SPF - protect against UV rays through the window Fly makeup free if over 5 hours allows for easier application of more moisturiser Apply moisturiser all over All of your skin needs hydration Try to move to keep circulation going Keep circulations moving Drink lots of water not sugary drinks or caffeine Cabins are very drying so keep hydrated Travel size toner in a small spritz bottle is amazing for ensuring skin is well nourished think of it like a drink of water for your skin Compressed towels will be very useful for cleansing skin during flight Lip Balm will protect the delicate skin on your lips. Your lips will can dry out whilst travelling due to the recycled air and change in altitude

6 Removing Makeup at Night will: Styes - Eye makeup will clog The little oil glands and cause infections like styes on your eyelids Spots and Enlarged Pores - Sleeping in your makeup on forms a barrier over the surface of the skin irritants are locked in and natural shedding is blocked. It will build up in your pores and make them appear larger Premature Aging Your skin ages approx. 2 days ageing for every night you wear makeup Blackheads around your lip clogs the pores Free Radical Damage - cleansing before bed will remove accumulation of environmental pollutants Dry, Dull skin speeds up circulation and prevents skin from drying out Loss of Lashes - Mascara will flake off and bring some lashes with it Individual Tips & Tricks (additional tips from slides) Fix Broken Compact powders by adding a little isopropyl alcohol into the powder until it forms a paste. Press into the original container and let set over night. Fix Broken lipsticks with a little heat being careful to melt the lipstick but not burn the product Mascara wands can be used as new brow brush when cleaned or separate your lash hairs after applying mascara. Makeup Expires this is from the time that you first open it, a lot of products will have individually expiry or best before dates outlined on the packaging
