This is the best wax we ve ever made. We tweaked and tweaked our previous Wet Diamond Paste Wax to maximize wetness and depth. It s fantastic by itself and especially stunning on top of Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection. When two coats are applied over All Finish Paint Protection, the resulting shine is wetness over energy... Wet Ice over Fire! Everything is included. 7 Applying Midnight Sun Ivory Carnauba Paste Wax: Apply in a shaded area, out of direct sunlight. Wax and buff one section (i.e. door, fender, hood, etc.) at a time. Apply a very thin coat of wax using a dry, foam wax applicator to a section of the car. Now go back and buff the wax to a bright shine using a Microfiber Buffing Cloth. Midnight Sun Ivory Carnauba Paste Wax buffs off wet. It is not necessary to wait for the wax to fully haze over. Simply walk around the vehicle, waxing and buffing as you go. Midnight Sun Ivory Carnauba Paste Wax can be layered to increase the depth, richness and wetness of shine. Allow eight hours (overnight) for each layer to cure before applying the next layer. NOTE: Each layer of wax must have time to cure. Applying a second coat immediately will not produce the same results. The extremely pure, Ivory Carnauba used in this wax will not yellow or discolor as layers are built-up. You will see a noticeable improvement in depth, richness and liquidity with the second application. Additional layers are more subjective but it is not uncommon for show cars to have a dozen or more coats of wax. Creating our signature, Wet Ice over Fire Shine. Apply and buff one coat of Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection by hand or by machine. See page 9 for instructions. Allow this layer to cure for 8 hours (overnight). Apply and buff one coat of Midnight Sun Ivory Carnauba Paste Wax following the instructions at the top of this page. Allow this layer to cure for 8 hours (overnight). Apply and buff a second coat of Midnight Sun Ivory Carnauba Paste Wax.. For touch-ups, spray and wipe anytime with BLACKFIRE Ivory Carnauba Spray Cleaner/Wax. NOTE: We know you re anxious and want to perform all three steps, one after another, but you will not get the same results. You must allow time between products for each coat to cure. 7

Apply a nickel-size amount of product to a dry foam applicator pad and wipe a very thin coating over one section (i.e. door, fender, hood, etc.) of the vehicle. Allow a light haze to form. Hand buff to a brilliant shine using a Microfiber Buffing Cloth. Applying All Finish Paint Protection by machine: (Porter Cable 7424 polisher fitted with a hook and loop backing plate.) Work on areas of 2-3 sq. ft. out of direct sunlight. Apply two, 8 inch lines of product on the paint. Apply with a CCS Technology, Red or Aqua Foam Finishing Pad. With machine off, spread product over the surface using the foam pad. This coats the pad and the surface with sealant. Set the Porter Cable s speed dial between 3-1/2 and 4. Press the pad against the paint and turn the machine on. Work the sealant over the surface until it starts to dry. Buff off residues by hand with a Microfiber Buffing Cloth. Apply sealant to paint. Spread sealant with machine off. Apply in a back-and-forth and up-and-down motion. Buff residues by hand. 9

Polishing before you apply the final wax or sealant removes old wax, cleans the top paint surface, visually reduces swirls, maximizes gloss and increases the illusion of wetness. BLACKFIRE Gloss Enhancing Polish is a non-abrasive, polish and glaze combination. It is designed for enthusiasts desiring the deepest, wettest gloss on vehicles with conventional single stage or base coat, clear coat finishes. Gloss Enhancing Polish wets the surface to create the illusion of the paint being under water and visually reduces swirls and blemishes. This polish can be applied by hand or machine. When applied with a dual-action, machine polisher like the Porter Cable 7424, it rounds-over the top edge of swirls and spots, robbing sunlight of a sharp edge to cause a reflection. 14 Our best polish for super-hard & conventional clear coats. In 2005, Mercedes Benz started using a super-hard, nano, ceramic particle clear coat and in 2006 several domestic automakers switched to scratch-resistant clear coats developed by both PPG and DuPont. These new clear coats are scratch resistant, not scratch proof. They can still be scratched and spotted. Conventional polishes may not have the power to remove defects in these super-hard clear coats. Scratch Resistant Clear Finishing Polish is made for BLACKFIRE by Menzerna of Germany. It is an adaptation of the same polish used by European automakers. This polish will restore gloss and remove 3000 grit swirls, spots and scratches in super-hard, scratchresistant clear coats and conventional clear coats without hazing the finish. S.R.C. 15 Applying Scratch Resistant Polishes by hand: Apply to a cool, 2 to 3 sq. ft. surface, out of direct sunlight. Apply a quarter-size amount of product to a Microfiber applicator pad. Mist pad once with water or pad lubricant and wipe over the surface using short, firm strokes until polish starts to dry. Allow a light haze to form. Hand buff residues using a Microfiber Buffing Cloth. Applying SRC polishes with a dual-action polisher: (Porter Cable 7424 polisher fitted with a hook and loop backing plate.) Work on areas of 3-6 sq. ft., out of direct sunlight. Apply using a CCS Technology, White, Green or Orange Foam Polishing Pad Mist pad once with water or pad lubricant. Apply two, 8 inch lines of polish on the paint. With machine off, spread product over the surface using the foam pad. This coats the pad and the surface with polish. Set the Porter Cable s speed dial between 3-1/2 and 4. Press pad against the paint and turn the machine on. Work the polish over the surface until it starts to dry. Buff off residues by hand with a Microfiber Buffing Cloth. Applying SRC polishes with a circular polisher: Work on areas of 3-6 sq. ft., out of direct sunlight. Apply using a CCS Technology, White, Green or Orange Foam Polishing Pad Mist pad once with water or pad lubricant. Apply two, 8 inch lines of polish on the paint. With machine off, spread product over the surface using the foam pad. This coats the pad and the surface with polish. Set the polisher s speed control to 1000 rpm. Press the pad against the paint and turn the machine on. Work the polish over the surface until it starts to dry. Buff off residues by hand with a Microfiber Buffing Cloth. 15

16 Make rough & gritty finishes smooth-as-glass! If you drive your car, it is going to collect paint contamination. Most contamination is tiny metallic particles from brake pad linings and rail dust created from the friction of train wheels against railroad tracks. These heated particles fill the air on highways and roads near railroad tracks. Ultimately they land on your car s finish, embedding themselves in the top paint or clear coat layer. They can be felt as a rough or gritty texture on your car s finish. There is no wax or sealant that can fully protect against paint contamination and left untreated, it can cause tiny rust spots in your car s finish. The best way to remove this contamination is to pull it off the surface using a special, non-abrasive, clay developed in Japan. BLACKFIRE PolyClay II is the latest in this clay technology. It s a man-made, polymer, clay that glides over the surface, pulling contamination out of your car s paint. The result is a smooth-as-glass finish, ready for polishing and waxing. 17 How to test for paint contamination. Wash and dry your vehicle. Put your hand inside a plasic sandwich bag and lightly run your fingertips over the paint s surface. It should be smooth-as-glass. If it is rough, gritty or pebble-like, you have some type of paint contamination which should be removed before polishing and waxing. How to use a clay bar to remove contamination. Clay bars should always be used on freshly washed, clean surfaces. Dirt on the surface could cause scratches. Work on areas of 2 to 3 sq. ft. Lightly mist the surface with clay lubricant. Squeeze 4 oz. of clay to form a hamburg-like patty. Glide the bar across the lubricated paint in a back-and-forth motion. It will grab at first but eventually glide freely when the contamination is removed. When the bar glides freely, wipe off any residues with a Microfiber cloth and continue in sections until the entire vehicle is complete. As the clay becomes soiled, use clay cleaner (below) or stretch and refold to expose a clean side. When the bar becomes totally soiled, discard it. NOTE: Clay bars will not remove scratches, swirls, dull paint or restore surface gloss. This is accomplished by polishing after claying. Never use a clay bar that has been dropped on the ground. Mist surface with lubricant and glide clay across the paint. Wipe off residues with a Microfiber cloth. Clean & extend the life of clay bars. 27 BLACKFIRE Aluminum Polishing System Polishing aluminum requires various grades of abrasive polishing agents starting with a heavy-cut compound and ending with a super-fine, finishing polish. Our aluminum polishes were developed over the last 40 years for the general aviation and aerospace industry. They are designed for application with either a dual-action or circular machine polisher using specific wool pads, depending on the machine used. Three different polishes available. You may not need all three steps. Depending on the condition of the metal you are working on and the level of shine desired, you may only need one or two of these polishes. We also offer a protective, acrylic, metal sealant. The use of a final sealant is optional. If you have a show vehicle that is not exposed to the elements, there is no need to seal the finish. On the other hand, if you are working on an aluminum trailer, sealing the finish will keep it looking better longer, resist bug and tar build-up and make future cleaning easier. 31 Protect polished metals with a long-lasting, transparent, acrylic shield. Show car owners and collectors with garaged collections typically do not seal polished metal surfaces. This allows them to touch-up areas, as needed, by wiping on small amounts of metal polish and hand buffing. Since collector and show cars are rarely driven, there is little need to protect the polished finish. On the other hand, if you ve just spent the last eight hours polishing your aluminum travel trailer to a bright shine, you want to keep it looking that way for as long as possible. BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond All Metal Sealant is designed to protect polished bare metals by sealing the the finish under a transparent, acrylic shield. They are widely used in the general aviation, aerospace, marine and RV industries at the OEM level. These pads are made to three different levels of cut or abrasiveness for use with specific polishes and for specific tasks Level One Pads: Designed for maximum cutting power. Level 1 Pads will take weathered, chalky, white-stained and spotted metals to a uniform, satin finish. These pads should be used with heavy-cut metal polishes such as BLACKFIRE Heavy Cut Aluminum Compound. Level 1 Pads are not designed to create a gloss finish. Level Two Pads: The most often used metal polishing pad is a 50% cutting blend and a 50% finishing blend. These pads are designed to be used with a medium or fine cut metal polish such as BLACKFIRE Fine Cut Aluminum Polish. Level 2 Pads will remove minor oxidation, haze and dullness and create a bright, chrome-like finish. These pads will quickly brighten chrome and create a like-new finish on stainless steel. Level Three Pads: This is a 100% finishing blend with minimal cutting power. 35 Metal Polishing Tips & Tricks: 1. Polishing aluminum is dirty work. The wool pads are designed to lint. Wear old clothes, eye protection and rubber gloves. 2. During the pre-polish and polishing steps, wool pads will cake with black residues causing them to become ineffective. When this happens, fluff the wool using a stainless steel brush. Pads can usually be fluffed three or four times before the become so black that they must be replaced with a fresh pad. 3. Before you start polishing, fill a bucket with water and add pad cleaning solution or car wash shampoo. When you remove a blackened wool pad from your machine, immediately put it in the bucket to soak. Never let blackened residues dry in the pad. Do the same with your buffing cloths. 4. Always apply polish to the surface. Never apply polish directly to the wool pad. Always use a dry pad. Never spray the pad with water or use a pad still damp from cleaning. 5. After polishing, you must wipe off residues with a cloth and inspect the finish. Wiping with a cloth dipped in Mineral Spirits (available at any paint store) will allow you to remove residues quicker and wipe more area before the cloth must be replaced with a fresh cloth. You can do this with Heavy Cut Compound and Fine Cut Aluminum Polish. DO NOT use a mineral spirit to wipe Wet Diamond Aluminum Show Polish residues. 6. If polishing trim on a vehicle, mask off adjacent paintwork. 35
