By rejuvenating skin cells, MD Pen TM helps lift and tighten facial tissues, while diminishing wrinkles, photo-aging and pore size. The treatment is also effective to reduce stretch marks and acne scars. Ease of Use Whether tethered or cordless, MD Pen TM is easy to manipulate around any area of the face or body. The practitioner simply glides the pen along the surface of the treatment area. 3 Creating Micro Channels MD Pen TM creates hundreds of micro channels that boost local elastin and collagen levels and allow multilayer skin penetration of key topical ingredients when used. Opting for Topicals When selecting topical serums for optional use with MD Pen TM, choose formulations that: are medical grade increase blood circulation encourage cell regeneration provide essential nutrients to the dermis or epidermis Avoid products that are vasoconstrictors, contain perfumes or dyes, or could damage tissues or cause allergies. Preparing the Skin for Treatment Cleanse the surface areas to be treated with MD Pen TM. Gently exfoliate to remove dead skin cells. Apply a topical anesthetic. Remove after 20 minutes. Use an antibacterial solution. Optional: Apply an even layer of the appropriate topical for the treatment.

4 Depth and Speed Selection Considerations It is important to choose settings for speed and depth that are appropriate for the skin surfaces to be treated. See the diagram above for recommendations. Power on MD Pen TM before selecting the needle depth. Be sure the needle depth is set to 0 before turning on the device.

5 Preperation and Application Ensure the needlehead will move up and down when you apply gentle pressure, before attaching it to the pen. Attach the needlehead by inserting it into the tip of the MD Pen TM, then rotating it gently to the right until it stops turning. Move MD Pen TM quickly over the skin, tracing straight lines or small circles on the forehead; small circles on the cheeks and chin; straight lines or a stamping motion on the nose. Do not repeat the circle or line in the same area more than 3 or 4 times. With your free hand, gently stretch the skin to aid the smooth gliding of the Pen. Do not apply undue pressure with the Pen and avoid sensitive skin areas. When the treatment is complete, replace the protective cap on MD Pen TM and remove the needle head by turning it to the left. Dispose of the needle head in a medical sharps container. Contraindications Contraindications and precautions include: keloid or raised scarring; history of eczema, psoriasis, actinic (solar) keratosis, herpes simplex infections, diabetes, or other chronic conditions; presence of raised moles, warts or any raised lesions on targeted area. Absolute contraindications include: scleroderma, collagen vascular diseases or cardiac abnormalities; rosacea or blood clotting problems; active bacterial or fungal infections; immuno-suppression; scars less than 6 months old; and facial fillers used in the past 6 months. Treatment is not recommended for patients who are pregnant or nursing. Best Practices Open the needlehead seal just before use, avoiding all contact with the needles. Needleheads are pre-sterilized and are for a single use. Use a new needle head for every patient. Make sure your MD Pen TM is fully charged before starting treatment. To prevent scratching, always lift MD Pen TM from the skin before making a pivot or change in direction. After treatment, apply moisturizer and sunscreen to the treatment area and instruct the patient to continue use at home.

6 Treatment Precautions During treatment, avoid contact with lips, immediate eye area, and eyelids. Do not use MD Pen TM on children, patients who are allergic to metals, or animals. If your patient displays an allergic reaction, immediately stop the treatment. In sensitive patients, hyperpigmentation can result from micro-needling treatments. Therefore, avoid applying undue pressure during treatment. Micro-needling is a fairly pain-free treatment, but the patient may experience itching, redness, swelling, or other skin irritations that are temporary. These symptoms should subside within two to three hours. Caring for Your md pen Clean your Pen after each use, and store it in its protective case. Using clean gauze, wipe down the entire surface of the pen with isopropyl alcohol before and after each treatment. For tight spaces, use an alcohol-soaked cotton swab. Keep the device and its needles away from children. If you suspect the Pen has malfunctioned, discontinue use. Charging Your Pen Connect the battery to the charger. Then press the power button. You will see a red light indicating that the battery is charging. Allow the battery to charge for 2 hours or until the red light changes to green, indicating a complete charge.

7 Warranty For the first 12 months of ownership, the warranty covers manufacturing defects that affect device operation. Any performance malfunction due to defects in manufacturing will be repaired or replaced during the warranty period. The warranty DOES NOT cover some items, including damages due to: operator misuse or negligence; use of inappropriate electrical voltage for use or for battery charging; repair attempts made by the owner/operator; natural disasters like earthquakes, floods, fires, and the like.
