2 Sylvia Rivera Law Project The Sylvia Rivera Law Project (SRLP) works to guarantee that all people are free to selfdetermine their gender identity and expression, regardless of income or race, and without facing harassment, discrimination, or violence. SRLP is a collective organization founded on the understanding that gender self-determination is inextricably intertwined with racial, social and economic justice. Therefore, we seek to increase the political voice and visibility of low-income people and people of color who are transgender, intersex, or gender non-conforming. SRLP works to improve access to respectful and affirming social, health, and legal services for our communities. We believe that in order to create meaningful political participation and leadership, we must have access to basic means of survival and safety from violence. Small Works for Big Change The Sylvia Rivera Law Project Collective is thrilled to celebrate our 5th Annual Small Works for Big Change Benefit Art Auction! Small Works for Big Change has been a wonderful success story for SRLP: in the past 4 years, over 35 organizing committee members and more than 150 progressive, transgressive, and cutting-edge artists have generously donated over 175 visionary works of art, helping to raise more than $40,000 to support SRLP s crucial work! This year, we are excited to present the work of over 60 amazing artists. Small Works for Big Change is an artistic collaboration, bringing together a creative community of curators, artists, sculptors, DJs, musicians, and performers to support social justice! We couldn t do it without all of you: creative artists; committee members who work throughout the year to coordinate Small Works for Big Change; in-kind donors who provide framing, refreshments, and ad space; all the day-of volunteers who make Small Works for Big Change possible; and last but not least the donors who purchase art and support SRLP s work for racial, economic, and gender justice! Participant Gallery.253 East Houston St NYC..February 18th :30-9:30pm..Bidding closes at 9:00pm. For a complete list of contributing artists visit: srlp.org/bigchange
