9 WHAT SPOTLIGHTS and HOW Interviews on few selected topics Designed exclusively by plastic surgeons, dermatologists and all board-certified practitioners within the medical aesthetic industry, IMCAS scientific programs feature experts and specialists from around the world. Visionaries. Predictors. Innovators. These are the people who bring IMCAS to life, especially since their contribution exceeds the simple lecturing duty. Rhinoplasty, breast surgery, blepharoplasty, face lifts, hair implants, liposuction, liposculpture, lasers, fillers, peelings, etc... all of these topical subjects are taught by world renowned speakers who cement the excellence of our IMCAS offer. At IMCAS Asia 2014, speakers will be offering attendees unique perspectives and insights into what is shaping the future of the profession, with a precise focus on the Asia-Pacific region. From recommendations for ethnic specificities to the current state of the local medical aesthetics market, all aspects of the aesthetic medical field will be served to the attendees on a silver tray. We look forward to seeing these speakers take the stage in Hong Kong. In the meantime, they have shared with us a sneak-peek of the 2014 trends. Enjoy! WHAT HOW ASIAN RHINOPLASTY Saturday, Room 4 2 pm to 6 pm BODY CONTOURING Sunday, Room 4 12 pm to 1 pm «The latest trends in Asian rhinoplasty put more focus on less invasive procedures in selected patients who may benefit from filler injection techniques to the dorsum and botulinum toxin injection to the alae. Advances in implant technologies have also increased the array of implant material options to silicon, PTFE (previously Goretex) or composites, and more. The aim of Asian rhinoplasty is not to simulate Caucasian noses, but to achieve refinements in nasal aesthetics, without losing ethnic identities.» Dr Daniel Tin Chak LEE «This type of surgery is popular in Asia because Asian women are quite body conscious. They usually have small frames so that when they gain weight after pregnancy, it can be very noticeable.» Dr Stephanie Chuk Kwan LAM BREAST SURGERY Friday, Room am to 7.00 pm ECONOMY & MARKET ANALYSIS Friday, Room pm to 7 pm FAKE MARKET Sunday, Room am to 9.30 am INJECTABLES Friday, Room 1 8 am to 7 pm INJECTIONS ON CADAVER & ANATOMY Friday, Room 1 2 pm to 5 pm LASERS FOR PIGMENTATION Friday, Room 2 11 am to 1 pm 5.30 pm to 7 pm LIPOFILLING Friday, Room 4 8:30 am to 1 pm ORIENTAL BLEPHAROPLASTY Saturday, Room am to 12 pm MARKETING Saturday, Room pm to 6 pm «Asian patients, who traditionally do not like artificial implants, are best served with the latest techniques in fat transplantation. These techniques allow the safe harvesting of fat in thin patients, while maintaining extremely natural results without any visible scars or needle marks on the breast.» Dr Daniel DEL VECCHIO «IMCAS and MRG (Millenium Research Group) have conducted a comprehensive survey on the Asian market with a special focus on China, the fastest growing market. Data regarding this survey will be presented during the next Asia Industry Tribune This survey covers dermal fillers, toxins and energy equipment market segments. We will also handle a round table discussion between executives of the industry and physicians in order to discuss physician and patient demands and particularly key challenges faced in the medical aesthetic market.» Laurent BRONES «With rapid global expansion of the aesthetic market, we see more opportunities for the invasion of fake products. Most of these fake products have been produced and imported from China, India, Pakistan, and other Asian countries where regulations and law enforcement are minimum or non-existent.» Dr Peter Y. C. HUANG «One current trend is to use fillers to modify congenital characteristics of the Asian face. Examples include enhancement of the nose, midface, forehead or chin; or injection of small amounts of hyaluronic acid filler at the inferior margin of the eyelid to create a charming roll. Another trend is to correct age-related disharmonies due to volume loss, by re-inflating facial fat compartments and other soft tissues.» Dr Hema SUNDARAM «No practitioner in our field can be comfortable when injecting without having a thorough knowledge of anatomy, in particular when it comes to muscles and fat, either for the face or body. These dissection techniques truly facilitate the process of locating the levels and axes where injections should be performed, in particular on the face and hands, and will be followed by high quality debates.» Dr Benjamin ASCHER «Asians are very prone to post inflammatory pigment hyperpigmentation following any laser treatment. Hence pre-operative patient assessment and selection of the most suitable laser and setting the appropriate parameters can help you reduced post inflammatory hyperpigment in Asian skin. Burns and blistering are other complications that are commonly seen in Asian dark skin. The right wavelength and pulsed duration setting is important in treating patients with dark skin.» Dr Chee Leok GOH «The latest development in the treatment of pigmentary conditions is the pico second laser. The results are quite pleasant.» Dr Henry Hin Lee CHAN «Increasing reports of efficacy of stromal vascular cells are appearing in both plastic surgery, dermatology and in other fields in medicine. Breakthroughs in the treatment of scleroderma, sports injuries, chronic injuries and conditions associated with ischemia and inflammation such as congestive heart failure and peripheral vascular disease are poised to happen in 2014.» Dr Steven COHEN «The most popular location of the indication of Asian choice for Oriental blepharoplasty is incisional or noincisional double-eyelid surgery, and upper blepharoplasties.» Dr David Dae Hwan PARK «The first step in any successful marketing campaign is developing a strategy, which should be set as the bench to qualify all marketing opportunities. In my opinion the best marketing strategy is to provide patients with the best experience. This strategy creates a wonderful word-of-mouth referral practice and helps to disqualify less important and expensive marketing avenues.» Colin CAMPBELL

CONFLICT OF INTEREST DISCLOSURE How does IMCAS broadcast the information to its speakers? Scientific lectures are presumed to be based on objective interpretations of evidence and unbiased interpretations of facts. The integrity of our conference requires disclosure of the possibilities of potentially distorting influences. The audience may then judge and, if necessary, make allowance for the impact of the bias on the information being reported. In general, the safest and most open course of action is to disclose activities and relationships that, if known to others, might be viewed as a conflict of interest, even if speakers do not believe that any conflict or bias exists. This is why each speaker is asked to display his or her disclosure slide before beginning to lecture. How about speaker(s) declaring a no Conflict of Interest? Neither the speaker nor any member of his/her immediate family has a significant financial arrangement or affiliation with the product, device or company involved in the congress nor any potential bias against another product, device or company.
