Roughly central straight perforation, 11 mm on one side by 12 mm by 14 mm on the other side. The hole has some striations probably from gouging out during manufacture. Slightly burnt. One piece exhibits a shallow central depression 25 mm wide in diameter. This piece is probably a rough-out weight. The other two pieces have been flaked. Sub-circular flaked disc. Lightly burnt on one side Roman Rod-shaped form with square cross-section, fine-grained, grey, micaceous stone. Sheen from use and some brown staining from contact with blade. Broken in half along long axis. Fig. 4.27, page Roman Roughly worked subrectangular piece of chalk with a smooth bowl-shaped circular depression measuring 25 mm diameter by 6 mm deep. Disc-shaped in plan with flat sides. Roughly central hourglass perforation, 6mm at mouth and 3mm in centre. Modern break has left the object in three pieces. Fig. 4.27, page Roman Sub-spherical processor manufactured from a soft lime cemented Jurassic sandstone Roman Sub-circular bracelet with and internal diameter of c 35 mm. Oval cross-section 10 mm wide and 8mm thick. Fine high polished surface. Fig. 4.27, page Roman Disc-shaped with curved sides. Roughly central perforation with a slight hourglass profile, 7 mm wide at mouth, 4 mm diameter in centre. Lightly burnt. 4 rubber but width complete. Triangular crosssection. The back of this rubber has been flaked to shape, but some of the Sarsen s original surface survives. Flat working surface with finely a pecked finish and good abrasion from use mainly along sides. The back has been flaked into an irregular dome.
