2 Bath and shower The bath and shower market sector has certainly progressed since the days of using a bar of soap. That said, many liquid toiletry products still contain the basic SLES, Betaine systems that are thickened by salt. This system is extremely cost effective, but not necessarily the best for your skin. It probably won t help your product to stand out in a cluttered market, either. Fragrance, colour and tip-ins are all important in this market sector. Combination with an antimicrobial surface active agent (e.g. Dermosoft Octiol or Dermosoft GMCY) is recommended to improve the performance of the product in emulsions. Dermosoft 1388 is a combination of fragrances from Petrochemical and Naturally derived origins with a mild inherent odour and bio-stabilising properties. It is useful for stabilising surfactant products as well as emulsions and can be used in cold processing. Eco version (Dermosoft 1388 Eco) is available, which is derived from natural origin. Recommended use level: 2 4% Dermofeel G 5 DO (INCI: Polyglyceryl-5 Dioleate) is a non-ionic surfactant made from natural raw materials. Recommended use level: 1 6% Dermofeel PP (INCI: Polyglyceryl-3 Palmitate) is a very effective selfemulsifying emulsifier when in contact with water, making it ideal for PEG-free self-emulsifying bath oils. 9 ZENESTER S (INCI: PEG-8 Dimethicone/Dimer Dilinoleic Acid Copolymer). Zenester S is a water soluble high molecular weight (25,000) polymeric silicone polyester. It is highly lubricious and provides excellent wet comb and conditioning as well as superb skin feel when delivered from aqueous systems. Zenester S is non-ionic and is compatible with cationic and anionic systems thereby providing the formulator with greater latitude. This product is water soluble and goes clear into a formula. Zenester S is patent pending. ZENESTER ME (INCI: Bis-PEG10 Dimethicone/Dimer Dilinoleate Copolymer). Zenester ME is a high molecular weight (36,000) polymeric silicone polyester, it is a completely reacted product. It is highly lubricious, provides superb skin feel when delivered from aqueous systems. Zenester ME is non-ionic and is compatible with oil/water and water/oil systems as well as anionic systems, thereby providing the formulator with greater latitude. Zenester ME is water dispersible and would be brilliant in sun and skin applications. Zenester ME is patent pending. ZENIBERRY R-XX (INCI: PEG-8 Dimethicone, PEG-8 Raspberriate). Zeniberry R-XX is a unique silicone material with a 6000 molecular weight that is derived from Cold Pressed Raspberry Seed Oil, and dimethicone copolyol. Its high molecular weight increases substantively and creates a lubricious emollient feel in sun and skin applications.
