3 OUR BEGINNING What sparked the fire for Kyoku for Men was the fact that founder Asim Akhtar himself was part of an increasing market of male skincare users who were dissatisfied with the current offerings available. The market was polluted with repackaged female products, or products with little-to-no scientific substantiation or results. Asim decided to take matters into his own hands and went on a mission to create a line of products that parallels, if not exceeds, the superior quality found in the women s market. Break-through developments in men s skincare were taking place in different corners of the globe, and during his international quest for the most efficacious natural ingredients, Asim came upon the small Japanese village of Yuzuri Hara the village of long life. If the name of the village itself didn t say enough, the impeccable skin and overall excellent health of the villagers will show you all the proof you need. And it all starts with a diet rich in starchy root vegetables

4 OUR DISCOVERY Turns out, these locally grown starches actually stimulate the body s production of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid binds collagen and elastin fibers together, helping the body s cells to thrive and retain moisture, thus keeping skin firm, smooth and supple. Further research into the diet, lifestyle and surroundings of the villagers provided us with knowledge on natural yet innovative ingredients, such as bamboo extract that simulates hyaluronic acid synthesis, exfoliating adzuki beans and clarifying volcanic ash. We wanted to ensure that these incredible ingredients could penetrate deep into the male dermal layers (which are 70% thicker and up to 25% more oily than female skin), which resulted in patented technologies such as Kyoku for Men s Micro-Particle Technology.
