1 Custom Painting Course Options If you have successfully completed PPG s Vibrance Collection Product Course or you are a PPG Certified Technician, then PPG has an exciting set of courses for you to take that will elevate your painting skills to the next level of creativity and coolness. Basic Airbrushing for first time users, Custom Airbrushing for those who have completed the Basic Airbrushing Course, Advanced Airbrush Techniques (Real Fire, American Flag and Eagle or Airbrushing the Human Skull), Custom Graphics, Flames Design, Custom Wood Grain and Vibrance Collection Candy Apple Finishes are eight courses that deliver practical instruction on these very popular painting techniques. Class sizes are limited to 12 participants, which allows for extensive hands-on instruction. Applications are handled on a first come first serve basis so don t delay, sign up today! Course Option 1 Basic Airbrushing how to use an airbrush. Basic course includes: about different types of Airbrushes and how they work. about Air supply, Proper Air Pressure, Paint Reduction, Cleaning and Trouble shooting the Airbrush. Techniques for holding the air brush, when to be close and far away.tips to make Air Brushing easier. Practice exercises on paper include: Basic strokes, Dagger Strokes, Lines, Dots, Circles, Shading, The use of Stencils / Templates, Free Hand Air Brushing and to create 3D effects. to use and mix Color to create a mural of a Beach Sunset, with waves and palm trees. to Airbrush a Skull, Eagle, Flying Eyeball and other custom images. 2 Course Option2 Custom Airbrushing Techniques Using gravity feed airbrushes to create special effects including: 2 panels, 1 Black and 1 White. different techniques painting over different colored bases. Each panel split into 4 projects. 8 different projects in all DBC Basecoats and DBC500. Or PPG Envirobase High Performance water borne base coat system. Check with the training center you plan to attend as to which paint system they will be offering. the Proper use of Stencils/ Templates. the use of pre cut designs with Paint Mask. Masking techniques with Paint Mask, Transfer Paper and Masking Tape. the Art of Cutting on masking using Razor Blades and X-Acto knifes. proper distance when Air Brushing, Air Pressure and Paint reduction for close detail work and distant Shading. to Air Brush: Real Fire, Chrome, Diamond Plate & Rivets, Stone effects, Airbrushed Wood Grain, Water Bubbles, Shading, and Blending of Colors. layout tips, use of reference material and how to determine your light source for high lights and shadows. Panel Projects include: Maltese cross with real fire, Wood grain, Paper Scroll, Rose, Chrome beveled logo, Diamond Plate, Metal with Rivets, Granite Slab Metal Tear out with Bubbles and Template Back grounds. 3 Course Option 3 ADVANCED AIRBRUSH COURSES 1. REAL FIRE COURSE proper techniques and colors to create lifelike flames using PPG s Vibrance Collection Students will airbrush Yellow / Orange / Red real fire on 1 half of a Black panel and Blue fire On the other half of the panel. On a second black panel students can chose any color. to use templates and freehand airbrush strokes to create their version of Real Fire. 2. AMERICAN FLAG AND EAGLE proper techniques to create a waving flag with an eagle in the foreground using colors from PPG s Vibrance Collection. 3. AIRBRUSHING THE HUMAN SKULL proper techniques Airbrushing the Human Skull. how to make a template using paper and a copy of a Human Skull. Students will also learn proper freehand techniques to add detail and shading. proper use of color and technique when rendering over a White and Black background. Black and White base coat will be used along with colors from the PPG Vibrance Collection. Students MUST attend the Custom Airbrush Techniques course before attending any Advanced Airbrush courses. 4 Course Option 4 CUSTOM WOOD GRAIN Wood grain techniques using PPG Water Bourne and Solvent Base Coats. Create show panels with different wood grain effects. Create grain with graining tools, brushes, airbrushes, tack rags and scuff pads. One full day of instruction. Lunch. Two show panels. NO AIRBRUSH EXPERIENCE NECESSARY Course Option 5 CUSTOM FLAMES DESIGN Design and layout of Flames to include: 2000 DBC Basecoats and DBC500. Classic and tribal designs. Overlapping & Shadowing. Ghost Flames. Blending and fading color. Use of pre-cut templates. Transferite and Gerber mask. Use of different types of spray guns. Limited air brush work. Two full days of instruction. $250 Three show panels. Course Option 6 CUSTOM GRAPHICS Design and layout of custom graphics to include: 2000 DBC Basecoats and DBC500. Checkered patterns. Graphic Stripes. Overlapping. Shadowing. Tape shading. Blending and fading colors. Granite techniques. Use of different types of spray guns. Limited air brush work. 3-D effects. Two full days of instruction. $250 Three show panels.

5 Course Option 7 LOWRIDER DESIGN STYLE PANEL Proper techniques spraying Vibrance Collection Candy Apple finishes using the Radiance II system over Ditzler BIG FLAKE. *THIS COURSE IS AVAIALABLE IN EHP WATERBASE* proper technique for applying metal flake. $250 Color composition using various combinations. Lay out of design and Taping Techniques. the proper spray techniques for applying a candy apple paint job using Radiance II candy dyes. Tape Shading, Fading and Blending Candy Colors. to use Clear Coats to fill paint edges and Metal Flake Two full days of instruction. Door skin size style aluminum panel.
