(Manufacturing month and year are mandatory for leather product only) The name & address of the producer or distributer is required as per GPSD (General Product Safety Directive) The required information must be available with every product sold and available at the point of sale. No specific format is required (e.g. permanent label on the article, hang tag, packaging, separate booklet, etc). Australia The Producer MUST be established in the EU. If not, Costco UK s/france s/spain s Name and Address can be adopted. Importer / Supplier information is required as per Costco requirement Registration Documentation (For Utah only) (for Quilted Clothing sold in the state of Utah) Visual/Utah Code Title 4 Chapter 10 and Rule Vendor must include a copy of the registration licensing document from the state of Utah. Anything official with state letterhead and accurate product description is acceptable. Verification of information provided on document will not be reviewed. Fail if no documentation is submitted. 9 *Recycle labeling - plastic and paper container (Only applicable to product using Japanese on its package) Japan Japanese Law for the Promotion of Effective Utilization of Resources All plastic (except PET bottle used for drinks, alcohol and soya sauce), paper containers (except paper beverage container without aluminum, and cartoon box) and wrapping are required to carry the applicable recycling symbols. The symbols are required to be at least 6 millimeters (0.24 inch) or greater for printed labeling and 8 millimeters (0.32 inch) or more for embossed labeling. Fabric Production Unit (FPU) Testing CPSC 16 CFR, Parts 1615& 1616 Test Criteria: Average char length of five test specimens shall not exceed 17.8 cm. or 7.0 inches. No individual specimen shall have a char length of: --- Sizes 0-6X: 25.4 cm. or 10 inches. --- Sizes 7-14: 25.4 ± 0.5 cm. or 10 ± 0.2 inches. NOTE: Details of the number of specimens which must meet the above test criteria for unit acceptance is specified in cited Code. Flammability tests to be performed before and after 50 home launderings (Re.: AATCC , Sections 8.2.2, & 8.3.1(A). (Test All Colors & Print Patterns) FPU Testing: Up to 5,000 linear yards of fabric produced for sleepwear is assigned a Fabric Production Unit Number (FPU). A 1 yard x the full width sample is drawn from the beginning of the FPU and another 1 yard x full width sample is drawn from the end of the FPU and sent for testing. Prototype Testing (for Design Acceptability) Flammability tests to be performed in original state. (Test all seam types, trims & screen prints.) Prototype Testing: Trims means decorative materials such as ribbons, laces, embroidery, or ornaments. This definition does not include (1) individual pieces less than 2 inches in their longest dimensions, provided that such pieces do not constitute or cover in aggregate a total of more than 20 square inches of the garment, or (2) functional materials (findings) such as zippers, buttons, or elastic bands used in construction of the garment. 15 Garment Production Unit (GPU) One GPU may include up to 500 dozen garments. Any garment produced from fabrics that passed the before and after 50 launderings testing stage, will be tested in the original state only and the longest seam type of the garment will be tested. If the fabric, seams, trims, & screen prints & etc. were not tested before the garments were made, tests must be conducted before & after 50 launderings on the fabric, seams, trims, & screen prints of the garments. When using heat cutting or aglet finishing, it should be noted that hardening of finishing part or protruding part may have risk of damaging the body and appropriate finishing must be added taking into account the risk.
