From comfort to urban styling, we carry shoes for every taste. Now, in addition to our two stores, conveniently located in Las Vegas and Henderson, we have launched our e-commerce website, ComfortStreetShoes.com. Over the years, we ve watched the comfort shoe market grow and develop into a lifestyle. Mary Hager Owner cork The story of a great renewable resource Cork grows on trees and back again! Cork comes from the bark of cork oak trees, grown in Spain and Portugal. The cork bark is peeled by hand in a process harmless to the trees. After seven years of new growth, each tree is ready for harvest again. Nothing goes to waste. The cork used in our footwear is a by-product of the bottling industry. After harvest, the cork bark is cut into bottle stoppers. The left over scraps are then used to make ground cork; used in Birkenstock cork footbeds. Why do your feet need cork? Cork gives Birkenstock their orthopedic contours. Cork is lightweight, resilient and shock-absorbent. renew your Birkenstocks. The combination of cork, natural latex and woven jute makes your Birkenstocks fully repairable. You can renew your Birkenstocks with a tune-up from Desert Birkenstock, your Authorized Birkenstock Repair Center. Basic shoe care to extend the Life of your shoes For Cork Footbed/Birkenstock Style Sandals & Clogs: Avoid Excessive Heat: Do not leave your footwear in hot places such as cars, pool decks, near campfires etc. Extreme heat may shrink your soles! If this happens, don t worry it s repairable! Preserve the Cork Footbed: When cork no longer looks shiny; apply a thin coat of cork sealant to prevent drying and cracking. This will make a huge difference in the life of your footwear! Clean & Protect the Uppers: A Suede & Leather protector should be applied before your footwear is worn and after each cleaning. This creates a barrier against dirt and stains. Clean & Condition your smooth leather with a high quality leather balm or lotion. Suede and Nubuck is best cleaned using a Suede & Nubuck shampoo or block and brush. Non-Leather upper materials such as can usually be cleaned using a mild soap & water. Clean and Deodorize Linings: When the insides of your shoe or sandal become soiled or smell, we recommend our Footbed Cleaner. Our footbed is a suede & leather shampoo especially formulated to clean and deodorize. Replace Worn Soles: Promptly have your soles replaced when the tread has worn smooth. This can help prevent more extensive repairs in the future. If just the heal area is worn smooth, heel taps may be the answer. Basic repairs offered By desert Birkenstock Please visit our store for your repair estimate. Due to the individual nature of each repair, we are unable to give estimates over the phone. Basic repair service pricing listed below. Heel Taps: $20. We recommend heel taps when just the outer heel area of the sole is worn down. Resole: $40 Replace the sole of the shoe when the tread is worn bald and smooth. Reline the Footbed: $40 Replace suede footbeds linings when they have worn hard, cracked or you just want them freshened up. Re-Craft: $75 When your sandal is completely trashed, we ll replace everything beneath the straps: suede lining, cork footbed & sole. In addition we ll clean and refinish your upper straps as well as replace any broken buckles. Resole Footprints & Tatami Stitched on Soles: $85 Free Desert Birkenstock Shoe Care with your Repair! Limit one Desert Birkenstock shoe care item per repair purchase, while supplies last. Many styles of Footprints and Tatami shoes are hand stitched. Our staff is trained to replace these soles. Special: Hand Stitch Resole & Replace Cork Footbed Insert: $100 In addition to replacing your worn soles, cleaning and polishing the leather, we ll include a new pair of removable cork footbed inserts (a $49.95 value!).
