Even after graduating from Georgia Tech with a degree in Business Administration and working in downtown Atlanta, she would find herself pulling out her paint brushes to relax and restore herself.

We were discussing our goals for the year; and Chris suggested I blend my creative drive and business skills to start my fine art business.

6 Marketplace 2018 Signature Artist Parrish Brown Hoag Sitting in her exposed-brick studio in Virginia Highlands, Parrish Brown Hoag, this year s featured signature artist, reminisced about her earliest memories of Marketplace. As a child, I d go with my mother to the Civic Center when she volunteered for Marketplace, she says. This event has been a part of the holiday season for me all of my life. Parrish, the daughter of Clarissa and Pepper Brown, MD, has always been an artist, spending hours in her craft room as a child. Even after graduating from Georgia Tech with a degree in Business Administration and working in downtown Atlanta, she would find herself pulling out her paint brushes to relax and restore herself. One day in early 2017, she and her husband sat enjoying lattes at one of their favorite neighborhood coffee shops just off the BeltLine in Atlanta. We were discussing our goals for the year; and Chris suggested I blend my creative drive and business skills to start my fine art business. Thanks to his encouragement and the support of many others, I now have the honor of creating artwork for wonderful clients. Parrish s fine art paintings are inspired by nature, traveling and the peace she feels when she s outdoors. Painting reminds me to live freely, she says, and to embrace freedom in the process.
