4 ABOUT PERNILLE CORYDON ABOUT PERNILLE CORYDON Scandinavian simplicity inspired by geometric shapes from around the world captured and transformed into unpretentious and marvelous jewellery collections. This is the work of Pernille Corydon. The Danish designer creates distinct, modern jewellery stripped of excess. What remains is a pure and feminine expression that with notable subtlety and simple beauty sends a massive appeal to women of all ages from all parts of the world. an early age and through the years her unique talent became more and more evident. In 2008 Pernille Corydon started focusing on designing jewellery, formed and produced by her own hands. At first her designs were sold exclusively through her own design shop in her current hometown Haderslev in Southern Denmark. However, it soon became clear that her distinctive design truly showed international appeal. Pernille Corydon creatively and with a curious eye and heartfelt warmth interprets organic forms, scenic lines, interior design and architecture with the specific intent to create two annual jewellery collections which both challenge and complement the current fashion trends. After years of massive success in Denmark, Pernille Corydon made her international breakthrough. Today the jewellery of Pernille Corydon is sold through more than 250 retailers in 14 countries and in cosmopolitans such as New York, Helsinki, London, Berlin, Paris and Tokyo. Born in 1976 Pernille Corydon grew up in the small town of Kerteminde on the Danish island of Funen. Pernille Corydon s interest in crafts proved at Pernille Corydon is grateful. Her success allows her to continue her great passion. To create and to delight women around the world. 4

6 INSPIRED BY LIFE INSPIRED BY LIFE Jewellery designer Pernille Corydon is blessed with an observant mind. She is drawn to the aesthetic details she comes across in life. Often she takes pictures of buildings, architectural lines, scenic snapshots or simply recognizing the current fashion trends walking by wherever in the world. It then almost immediately finds itself transformed into little sketches on paper that soon will prove to be the next Pernille Corydon Jewellery collection. There is a very special place in Denmark where Pernille always returns to for inspiration and soul searching thoughts. The rainbow circular walkway at the top of the contemporary art museum Aros in the city of Aarhus. A place and city close to her heart. And when watching the city of Amsterdam from the canals Pernille is intrigued by a ship-like building with waving round shapes. Take a look at Crossed Ring and Facet Curved Ring by Pernille Corydon Jewellery and you clearly recognize the design. In Berlin Pernille finds the rawness of the concrete combined with the soft round shape of the enormous circle, with people going about their day behind the open or closed blinds, particularly interesting. This specfic picture of this building is a daily source of inspiration to Pernille and the use of circles and contrasts has become a signature feature to many of her designs. Fly Earstick and Fly Necklace in the Origami colletion, however, are inspired by origami street art in Paris. Pernille is especially fond of the folding shapes and partially patterns and enjoys the detailed and yet simple approach to art found in origami and other Japanese art forms. The inspiration continues. 6

11 MATERIALS & COLOURS MATERIALS COMMON GROUND The jewellery of Pernille Corydon is made of pure sterling silver with a minimum millesimal fineness of 925. Some products have semi-precious stones added. In order to protect our customers the quality of our precious metals is tested by the Danish Assay Office at a regular basis. We care about the health of our customers and our products contain no nickel. COLORS Depending on each design up to four different colors are available. Gold plated: Sterling silver with a fine layer of gold of at least 18 carats Silver: Sterling silver with a natural untreated surface. Oxidized: Sterling silver with a beautiful darkened surface Rose gold plated: Sterling silver with a fine layer of gold mixed with copper Ruthenium: Sterling silver with a fine layer of ruthenium All dark nuanced rings are darkened with a fine layer of ruthenium. And all dark nuanced earrings, necklaces and bracelets are oxidized for a dark silver look. ORDER NUMBER ABBREVIATIONS The last letters of each product number indicates the color. (e.g. r-490-gp is the product number of our Brick Ring with a gold plated surface). gp = gold plated s = silver rut = ruthenium rgp = rose gold plated oxy = oxidized 11

54 CARE INSTRUCTIONS RECOMMENDED CARE AND CLEANING As an official Pernille Corydon dealer you should always let your customers know how to take good care of their new jewellery. Do not let your jewellery come into contact with nail polish remover, perfume, hairspray, detergents and other chemicals. Jewellery will eventually wear down, the plating will wear off and the color will faint, turn dark and start to tarnish. This is unavoidable, since precious metals and platings react with oxygen in the air. However, by following a few simple guidelines below you can make your favourite pieces of Pernille Corydon jewellery last longer. Wear jewellery for appropriate tasks only. Avoid wearing jewellery when showering, swimming, sunbathing, cleaning, gardening or performing sports activities. Always protect your jewellery from sharp blows, scratching, sunlight and extreme heat or cold. Store your jewellery safely in a soft lined box or pouch. Try to keep your jewellery pieces apart when storing them. Clean your jewellery regularly. For daily cleaning use hot water with a drop of mild detergent and a soft cloth. Your jewellery will become clean this way but not shiny. From time to time you can use a professional jewellery cleaning product. Always read the manufacturers instructions before use. Clean your jewellery with care and remember that using a cleaning product also affects the plating of your jewellery. Important: always keep jewellery out of the reach of small children. 54
