2 Ask the Doctor Q What procedures or products have the best results for under-eye bags and wrinkles? I am 40 years old and have excessive horizontal lines that accent the bags under my lower eyelids. - A.A. A Bags and wrinkles are a common concern at our clinic, so we try to keep on top of the latest products and treatments to address these issues. We have various options because no two people are alike. When it comes to procedures, an option I often recommend would be a fractionated or surgical laser. Depending on the severity of the excess baggage and your expectations, this could involve some downtime. 5 Procedure of the Month: SCAR CORRECTION Dr. Lycka offers a remarkable treatment to reduce the prominence of scars on your face and body. 6 Article from Stephanie Banish the Gloom From Your Basement Hello everyone! Basements tend to have a cold clammy vibe that makes buyers want to improve them or walk away due to the work needed. Here are a few tips on improving the vibe of your basement. Don t waste too much time on this project. Basements aren t the main attraction of a home. Spend just enough time creating the warm vibe buyers are looking for. Incorporate pattern, texture and light. Some people like dark cozy cave-like spaces. I prefer a basement that is light and bright. Cotton twill makes for easy, washable upholstery. Patterned pillows can brighten up any space. Eliminate clutter. The basement can easily become a dumping ground; you know the saying... out of sight, out of mind. Dedicate your time to organize and declutter. Invest in a good storage solution to keep everything tucked away. Lighting is critical since most basements don t get great natural lights. Invest in pot lights or track lighting, which can help the overall space seem bigger. Add decorative tables or floor lamps to help make the mood more welcoming. 7 Hi from Jango! B oy, does my family look happy and relaxed! After their tropical vacation in February everyone came home full of smiles and sunshine. And they didn t forget about me, either! They brought me home some souvenirs including a big, bright red clay fire hydrant that will go out in the garden. I have been sniffing it and trying to figure out if it contains any treats, and this made them laugh pretty hard. I think I may have missed the joke. Besides that fun, it s been back to the usual busy schedule for everyone. Dr. Lycka became a Rotarian last August and ever since has been pleased to spend time getting to know everyone in this service-minded organization. In early February the group had a visit from Alberta Premier Alison Redford, who spoke at one of their breakfast meetings. Dr. Lycka said he was incredibly honoured that she would share her time speaking to the group. Dr. Barry had a full table of friends and business associates join him as well!
