1 PRESS RELEASE KETCHIKAN POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE DATE: 8/15/12 On 7/1/12 at approximately 0302 hours, officers were dispatched the 1450 block of Tongass Avenue due to a report of a domestic assault in progress. Officers contacted MONIKA D. KELLEY, 21 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska, who showed signs of intoxication. Ms. Kelley was arrested for Violating Conditions of Release. She was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center and bail was set at $ On 7/2/12 at approximately 1304 hours, officers radioed dispatch they were in foot pursuit of MATTHEW S. SHERWOOD, 29 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska. Mr. Sherwood was arrested on two outstanding warrants bail set at $2, each. He was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center and booked for Misconduct Involving a controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree and held on no bail for the charge. He was also book for Violation of Conditions of Release and held on $2, for the charge. On 7/3/12 at approximately 1550 hours, officers observed TANYA L. BURCHFIELD, 27 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska, driving a silver 1989 Chrysler in the 2400 block of Tongass Avenue. Officers requested a driver s license check. Ms. Burchfield was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center, booked and held on $ bail for Violation Conditions of Release and set to be released on Driving While License Revoked and set to be released on her own Recognizance on this charge. On 7/3/12 at approximately 2134 hours, officers were dispatched to Mike s Elbow Room due to a report of an intoxicated male refusing to leave the premises. Upon investigation officers arrested VANCE T. BOOTH, 26 years of age, of Metlakatla, Alaska. He was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where he was booked for Violating Conditions of Release with bail set at $ On 7/3/12 at approximately 2151 hours, officers responded to the 900 block of Herring Way due to a compliant of an intoxicated male. Upon investigation officers arrested NEIL F. HARTEIS, 42 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska for Violation of Conditions of Release. He was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center and held on $ bail. On 7/3/12 at approximately 2345 hours, while patrolling the 300 block of Front Street officers observed a green 2007 Jeep Wrangler make an extremely wide turn onto Dock Street without using a turn signals. Officers made contact with BRANDON A. BAUER, 28 years of age, of Puyallup, Washington, who showed signs of intoxication. Mr. Bauer was arrested for Driving under the Influence. He was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center and set to be released on his own Recognizance. On 7/4/12 at approximately 0030 hours, officers observed ERICA J. YOUNG, 24 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska, enter the Asylum Bar. Officers had made contact and verbally warned Ms. Young earlier in the evening due to a fight that she had been

2 involved in and due to her level of intoxication that she would be not be able to enter a licensed premise for the remainder of the evening. She was arrested for Drunken Person on Licensed Premise and transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where she was set to be released on her own Recognizance. On 7/4/12 at approximately 0050 hours, while on patrol officers observed GARY L. HAMILTON, 65 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska, enter the Sourdough Bar. Officers made contact with Mr. Hamilton who showed signs of intoxication. He was arrested for Violation of Conditions of Release and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Sixth Degree. He was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where he was held on $ bail. On 7/4/12 at approximately 1503 hours, officers responded to Thomas Basin Float 5 due to a report of an intoxicated male lying on the dock. Upon arrival officers made contact with DANIEL J. CHARLES, 46 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska, who had a strong order of intoxicants on his breath. He was arrested for Disorderly Conduct Loud Noise and transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where he was set to be released on his own recognizance. On 7/5/12 at approximately 0154 hours, while patrolling behind Houghtaling Elementary officers observed several people on the playground. Officers made contact with DANIEL S. KENYON, 18 years of age, and a juvenile male, 17 years of age, both of Ketchikan, Alaska. Mr. Kenyon had a moderate odor of intoxicants on his breath. Upon investigation he was booked on Violation Conditions of Release and Minor Consuming Alcohol. The 17 year old juvenile male showed no signs of intoxicants, was released to his parents. On 7/5/12 at approximately 0234 hours, officers observed JOSEPH D. BROWN, 37 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska, walking east in the 600 block of Water Street hand beer bottles to several people from an open carton of beer. Officers made contact with Mr. Brown and he was arrested for Disorderly Conduct Open Container. On 7/5/12 at approximately 1431 hours, officers arrested NEIL F. HARTEIS, 42 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska, on an outstanding warrant for Failure to comply while lodged at the Ketchikan Correctional Center bail is set at $1, On 7/6/12 at approximately 0918 hours, officers arrested HAROLD W. DILTS, 32 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska, on an outstanding warrant out of Craig, Alaska. Mr. Dilts showed signs of intoxications. He was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where he was held on $5, bail for the warrant. He was also charged with Violating Conditions of Release bail was set at $2, On 7/7/12 at approximately 0214 hours, officers conducted a traffic stop on a white 1999 Lincoln Navigator in the 800 block of forest Avenue for defective equipment. Officers made contact with DENNIS A. MANN, 64 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska, who showed signs of intoxications. Mr. Mann was booked on Violating Conditions of Release. He was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where he was held on $ bail.

3 On 7/8/12 at approximately 0007 hours, while parked in the 1100 block of Water Street officers observed a blue 2002 Subaru Station Wagon heading west traveling at a high rate of speed turn right onto Front Street into the far lane heading east and began to accelerate in speed. Officers made contact with DEVIN T. NIX, 25 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska, who showed signs of intoxication. Mr. Nix was arrested for Driving under the Influence. He was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where he was set to be released on his own recognizance. On 7/8/12 at approximately 0305 hours, officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Buren Road to take a report of a vehicle theft. Officers made contact with a female who stated that her silver 2011 Dodge Durango was stolen from her driveway. Upon investigation KELLI M. LECORNU, 19 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska, was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where she was booked on Vehicle Theft in the First Degree and held without bail. On 7/8/12 at approximately 0949 hours, officers responded to a report from a KAR House employee that KATHRYN L. BARTELS, 49 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska, was being removed from the KAR House treatment program for noncompliance. Upon investigation Ms. Bartels was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center and booked for Violation of Conditions of Release. Bail was set at $ On 7/9/12 at approximately 0541 hours, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Dock Street due to a report of a male kicking in the front door to the Tongass Dock Store. Upon arrival officers observed a male urinating on the Sourdough Bar s front door. GRANT H.J. ANNISKETT, 19 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska, showed signs of intoxication and had a strong odor of marijuana. Mr. Anniskett was arrested for Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, Disorderly Conduct and Misconduct Involving a Control Substance. He was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where he was set to be released on his own recognizance. On 7/9/12 at approximately 0829 hours, officers observed RACHEL M. MCNEELEY, 40 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska, driving a blue and white Ford truck. Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of Front Street. Ms. McNeeley was arrested for Driving While License Revoked. On 7/9/12 at approximately 1421 hours, a Walmart employee made contact with officers to report two thefts of merchandise that were caught on video by RAYMOND H. BLAIR, III, 24 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska. Upon investigation Mr. Blair was arrested for Theft in the Second Degree. On 7/9/12 at approximately 2303 hours, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Main Street due to a report of a male and female in a verbal altercation. Officers had made contact and verbally warned MARY A. CLARK, 26 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska, earlier in the evening due to a verbal argument with an adult male that she had been involved in due to her level of intoxication that she would be not be able to enter any more bars or liquor stores for the remainder of the evening. Upon investigation Ms. Clark was located at the Sourdough Bar and was arrested for Drunken Person on Licensed Premise and transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where she was set to be released on her own recognizance.

4 On 7/10/12 at approximately 0725 hours, officers were dispatched to the airport parking lot due to a report of a 1997 red Chevrolet pickup truck with Washington license plates driving erratically and then parking with an adult male sleeping in the driver s seat. Upon investigation DON S. DECATOR, 54 years of age, of Lyman, Washington, was arrested for Driving under the Influence and Misconduct Involving a Weapon in the Fourth Degree. He was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where he was set to be released on his own recognizance. On 7/11/12 at approximately 0859 hours, officers were dispatched to Tatsuda s Grocery store due to a report of a domestic assault that had just occurred. Upon arrival officers made contact with a female witness who indicated that PATRICK C. ANNISKETTE, 48 years of age, had slapped a female on the left side of her face. Mr. Anniskette, who showed signs of intoxication, was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where he was booked for Assault in the Fourth Degree Domestic Violence, and held without bail. On7/13/12 at approximately 0014 hours, while on patrol in the 1400 block of Tongass Avenue officers observed MONIKA D. KELLEY, 21 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska, stagger and stumble down the sidewalk. Officers made contact with Ms. Kelley who showed signs of intoxication. She was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where she was booked on Violating Conditions of Release and held on $ bail. On 7/14/12 at approximately 1407 hours, officers were dispatched to the Alaska and Proud Market due to a report of a male and a female shoplifting from the store. Officers made contact with a 17 year old juvenile female, of Ketchikan, Alaska. Upon investigation officers arrested the 17 year old juvenile female for Theft in the Fourth Degree. On 7/15/12 at approximately 0333 hours, officers responded to the area of Ketchikan Lake Road and Nordstrom Drive due to a report of a juvenile female sitting on the side of the road crying. Officers made contact with a 15 year old juvenile female who stated that she tried to prevent TAWNY L. BOOTH, 18 years of age, of Metlakatla, Alaska, from driving because she was intoxicated and that Ms. Booth had punched her in the face. Ms. Booth was arrested for Assault in the Fourth Degree Domestic Violence and Minor in Possession of Alcohol. She was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center and held with no bail. On7/15/12 at approximately 1402 hours, officers observed JENNIFER A. DOIG, 26 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska, driving a red 2005 Pontiac down Garden Lane and park on Heneghan Street. Officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested Ms. Doig for Driving While License Suspended. On 7/15/12 at approximately 1405 hours, officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of Frist Avenue due to a report of a male taking a child without permission. Officer made contact with a female who stated that LEONARD A. DRISCOLL, 37 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska, grabbed her upper arm during an argument and left bruises. Mr. Driscoll was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where he was booked for Assault in the Fourth Degree Domestic Violence and held without bail.

5 On 7/16/12 at approximately 0907 hours, while on patrol in the area of Dock and Front Street officers were flagged down by a female who stated that JUSTIN L. CARRO, 40 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska, tossed her around causing injury to her right outer biceps and left wrist and pulled her bracelet while pushing and shoving her causing a cut to her left wrist. Mr. Carro was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where he was booked on two counts of Assault in the Fourth Degree Domestic Violence and held on $1, bail. On 7/16/12 at approximately 2235 hours, officers responded to the 600 block of Dock Street due to a report of several juveniles stringing fishing line across the street causing a bicyclist to hit it and fall to the ground. Upon investigation a 15 year old juvenile male was arrested for Criminal Mischief in the Fifth Degree. On 7/17/12 at approximately 1842 hours, officers were dispatched to the emergency room of the Ketchikan General Hospital due to a report of a male that was assaulted. Upon investigation JOHN W. MCKEE, 22 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska had entered the male s resident uninvited and punch him in the face and struck him several times in the head with a candle stick causing him to loose temporary consciousness. Mr. McKee was arrested for Assault in the Third Degree and transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where he was held on $5, bail. On 7/18/12 at approximately 1918 hours, officers were dispatched to The Plaza for a report of an intoxicated male harassing customers and refusing to leave. Officers made contact with DOUG E. VILL, 52 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska who showed signs of intoxication. He was arrested for Disorderly Conduct Open Container and transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where he was set to be released on his own recognizance. On 7/18/12 at approximately 2013 hours, officers were dispatched to the area of the Library due to a report of an intoxicated male sleeping on a park bench. Officers made contact with DANIEL J. CHARLES, 46 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska, who had a strong order of intoxicants on his breath. He was arrested for Violating of Conditions of Release and transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center with bail set at $ On 7/20/12 at approximately 1303 hours officers responded to Walmart due to a report that security had a female in custody for shoplifting. Upon investigation JAIME M. LLUELLYN, 30 years of age, of Ketchikan, Alaska was arrested for Theft in the Fourth Degree.
