McDaniel s hooker with a heart of tin is the opposite of her mousy turn in Zanna, Don t; with her frowzy hair and boob falling out of her dress she s the visual incarnation of her messy views on child-rearing. At the risk of becoming typecast for cretinous types, Mader is hysterical both as one who s completely succumbed to cannabis power and as an abandoned baby, his bug-eyes eliciting both laughs and pity. Reefer Madness is a leap forward for Ampersand whose Suburbia two years ago underwhelmed me. Let s hope they and the entire youthful cast of Reefer will continue to hone their craft. In the meantime, a few drags or drinks might be just enough to enable you to enjoy the Madness at Mid-City Theatre. Art in New York If you happen to visit New York this summer, there are lots of museums you can visit the Metropolitan, the Modern, the Whitney, the Guggenheim, the Frick, the Morgan, etc., etc. all worthy choices. But do not miss the Neue Galerie at Fifth Avenue and 86 th Street and its unforgettable exhibit Degenerate Art: The Attack on Modern Art in Nazi Germany, 1937 which has been extended until September 1. The term degenerate was adopted by the National Socialist regime as part of its campaign against modern art. Many works branded as such by the Nazis were seized from museums and private collections. Following the showing of these works in a three-year traveling exhibition that crisscrossed Germany and Austria, most were sold, lost, or presumed destroyed. Here then is a unique opportunity to see these survivors by such vital artists as Max Beckmann, George Grosz, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Paul Klee, Oskar Kokoschka and others. The Neue Galerie puts these works in elucidating context by contrasting them, at the beginning of the exhibition, with the bland works the Nazis found acceptable. Wall tags even include the works exact placement in the original exhibit. We re fortunate to have the National World War II Museum in New Orleans. A show of this significance, however, is unlikely ever to come here. If you re a historian, an art-buff, or simply a sentient human being, if you have the opportunity to visit the Neue Galerie before Degenerate Art closes, take full advantage and do so. You won t regret it. This article is about style, lifestyle and how a majority of the time your lifestyle will dictate what you wear and how you wear it. Keeping true to your own personal style is key. I chose a subject that for one reason or another has bear-ly been tapped into as a subject to write about in the world of fashion. Once again I find myself asking why there is never anything about larger men s fashions in magazines. To be honest you see very little about the Bear culture in the gay magazines unless it s an ad for an event. Really people? Are we so shallow that we can t see the sexiness of a man who has a little more to offer than the body of some twink porn star exposing himself with no body fat, or the Armani models who stress over eating one pea a day because they might lose the $25,000 contract? Please, bitches. I am here to say I love a hot, sexy bear that is bear-ly dressed. I admit I like a little extra cushion for the pushin. Oh and yes the ones I have had the pleasure of screwing around with have been great in bed. Dare I put a bear in a photo shoot wearing underwear and leather. Um???????? Hell yes!! I like my steak and potatoes. BAM BAM! So with all that I have said let me introduce you to Jeff. Yes Jeff has a man named Scott (bartends at GrandPre s) and they are both hot! If you ever catch them out just know you are in for a great time. Jeff is currently filling in at the Golden Lantern as a bartender. He used to work at Cafe Lafitte in Exile and most recently Lucky Pierre s. Most of the time you will find Jeff sporting a tee shirt or a basic polo shirt and some comfortable shorts (pictured in our photo shoot from the Phoenix Bar). Easy and smart for this New Orleans summer weather. I wanted to show Jeff s true personal style so I had him pull from his own closet for this shoot. Also pictured here is Jeff sporting his yummy Southern Decadence look in a leather harness and plaid kilt with leather combat boots. We also had Jeff jump up on the pool table at the Phoenix and pose with his close friend the Polar bear in his tiger print underwear. And yes, we had to go upstairs and do a sling shot because, come on. We were at the Phoenix/Eagle! Mentioning sexy bears, Jeff has a new bear venture, BEARLESQUE. This wonderful all male burlesque troop filled with nothing but sexy bears is set to debut their show at the Phoenix on July 26th of this year. So good! I for one am looking forward to it. So let s see. Hopefully I opened your eyes to the fact that hot and stylish men come in all shapes and sizes. As I have shown you in Jeff s photos, bear-ly dressed larger men can be as sexy as hell and have good style. As far as Jeff goes I give him two thumbs up for always looking good no matter how little he is wearing. Two thumbs up for his drive and ambition. Two thumbs up for starting "Bearlesque" at the Phoenix on July 26th. You go Jeff!
