The fruit of Cupuaçu is used to produce juices and sorbets in its native South America. The seeds contain approximately 48% of a sweet-smelling butter which is stable and highly suitable for use in cosmetics and toiletries. Cupuaçu Butter has a high capacity for water absorption and is therefore an excellent emollient for cosmetic formulations. Efficacy: Prevents drying of the skin and development of wrinkles. Reduces degeneration of skin cells and restores flexibility, moisture retention and elasticity to the skin. Illipe butter is light tan in color and has long-lasting moisturizing properties. It is most renowned for its skin softening quality. Illipe s chemical composition closely resembles that of cocoa butter, yet with a higher melting point, making it ideal for use in bar soaps, lip balms, lipsticks and other stick type applications where a higher melting point is desired. 4 Kokum Butter - Ultra Refined (Garcinia Indica Seed Butter) Kokum Butter has been obtained from the fruit of the Kokum (Garcinia Indica) or Kokam tree grown in the central east region of India. From its fruit kernels the butter is extracted and further processed and refined to obtain a very white butter, which has a fairly mild odor, suitable for cosmetics and toiletries. Kokum Butter exhibits excellent emollient properties and high oxidative stability, which can assist emulsion integrity. With its relatively higher melt point, it melts slightly at skin temperatures making it ideal for lipsticks and balms; it s also a great addition to bar soaps and skin lotions. Suggested Use Levels: Lotions & Creams: 1-3% Balms: 5-100% Bar Soaps: 2-5% Hair Conditioners: 1-3% Mango Butter - Ultra Refined (Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter) Mango Butter has been obtained from the fruit seed of the Mango Tree (Mangifera Indica) grown in the sub-tropics of India and other parts of the globe. From its seed a firm butter is rendered, suitable for soaps, cosmetics, toiletries and pharmaceuticals. Mango Butter exhibits excellent moisturizing for lotions and good lubricity on skin. It melts readily at skin temperatures making it ideal for sticks, balms and suppositories. It also counters the drying effects of bar soaps and cleansers. The large fruits are edible and valued for their flavor in South America. From the seeds a white butter is obtained which has a unique, characteristic odor. The butter s natural gloss brings a desirable shine to dry, damaged hair. Murumuru Butter is solid at room temperature, but melts immediately on contact with the skin. Murumuru s attributes have been likened to Lanolin (moisture binding properties). Suggested uses: Creams, lotions, balms, make-up foundations and bar soaps. Palm Butter - Ultra Refined - Certified Organic INCI name = Elaeis Guineensis (Palm) Butter Palm Butter - Ultra Refined is a naturally occurring butter developed exclusively by BioChemica International for cosmetic use. Palm Butter is actually a natural stearine fraction of palm fat that is a solid butter at room temperature that has great antioxidant power. Along with a high content of inherent Tocopherols, there is a large amount of Tocotrienols found in palm butter. Tocotrienols are more potent therapeutically than tocopherols and tend to be 40 to 50 times stronger in oxidative stability. Palm Butter may be used in formulas to aid in free radical scavenging, cell regeneration, and to assist in moisturization after exposure to sun and other harsh elements. From this seed a firm but pliant butter is rendered, suitable for soaps, cosmetics and toiletries. Due to its uniform Triglyceride composition, it exhibits high oxidative and emulsion stability, and has wonderful skin softening abilities. It contains mostly C18:0 and C18:1 (Stearic and Oleic) fatty acids. It melts at skin temperatures making it ideal for sticks and balms. Also ideal for bar soaps and skin creams. 5 Shea Butter - Ultra Refined - Also Available As Certified Organic (Butyrospermum Parkii {Shea Butter} Shea Butter is obtained from the seeds of the Karite Tree (Butyrospermum Parkii) common to West Africa. From these seeds a soft, pliant butter is expeller pressed without the use of solvents, making it suitable for use in soaps, cosmetics, toiletries and OTC Pharmaceuticals. The Ultra Refined grade of Shea Butter is deodorized and filtered using natural clays to render a butter which is nearly white and odorless. Shea Butter melts at skin temperatures, making it ideal for lip and body balms as well as bar soaps, lotions and skin creams. Suggested Use Levels: Lotions & Creams: 3-5% Balms: 5-100% Bar Soaps: 3-6% Hair Conditioners: 2-5% Shea Butter HMP (High Melt Point) [INCI Name = Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Shea Butter HMP is a special grade of shea butter which exhibits a higher-than-normal melting point. This is achieved via a proprietary fractionation process. Regular shea butter has a typical melting point range of 31º - 38º C; Shea Butter HMP has a melting point range of 40º - 45º C, making it ideal for applications where a high percentage of shea butter is used in a finished formulation, or simply packaging shea butter in its pure form. In such formulations, use of Shea Butter HMP will prevent melting at ambient temperatures (i.e. shipping in hot summer months). Suggested uses: Creams, lotions, and balms. Shea Butter - Unrefined (Ultra Natural ) (Butyrospermum Parkii {Shea Butter}) Shea Butter Ultra Natural, which is supplied by BioChemica has been expeller pressed from the fruit seed of the Karite tree grown on the African continent. From its seed, a yellow butter is obtained, which must be further processed and refined for use on the skin, creating a smooth, creamy texture, retaining its natural color and odor. Shea Butter is well known to assist cutaneous dryness, dermatitis, dermatoses, eczema, solar erythema and burns. The toxicity of Shea Butter is nil, and in fact is used in Europe in foods and confections to replace fats to enhance food texture and flavor. Suggested uses: Creams, lotions, and balms. Tucuma Butter - Ultra Refined (Astrocaryum Tucuma Seed Butter) The Tucuma Butter supplied by BioChemica has been obtained from the fruit of the Brazilian Amazon tree (Astrocaryum Tucuma). The large fruits are edible and valued for their flavor in South America. From its seeds a light colored butter is obtained which has a unique, characteristic odor and behavior similar to that of Murumuru butter. The butter s natural gloss brings a desirable shine to dry, damaged hair and can act as a wonderful skin moisturizer, exhibiting great lubricity. Tucuma Butter is solid at room temperature, but melts immediately on contact with the skin. Tucuma s great emolliency and skin feel come from its high levels of Lauric, Myristic, and Oleic fatty Acids. Suggested uses: Creams, lotions, balms, make-up foundations and bar soaps. Almond Butter Ultra Refined (Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil / Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil) Almond Butter is derived from sweet almonds (Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis), specifically from the Mediterranean area, and is obtained by cold pressing of selected fruits followed by a full refining process. The natural oil contains essential fatty acids, but also contains unsaponifiables as natural waxes/paraffins which are collected during the refining and deodorization process and are blended with hydrogenated vegetable oil to render a butter-like consistency. In cosmetic preparations, the feel and behavior is very similar to that of shea butter (Butyrospermum parkii). 6 Avocado Butter Ultra Refined (Persea Gratissima {avocado} Oil / Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil) Avocado Butter is obtained from the fruit of the Avocado tree (Persea Gratissima) which grows in sub-tropical regions of the world. The butter is created from the Avocado fruit oil through a unique hydrogenation blending process which yields a soft, greenish butter with mild odor and excellent melting properties, which is suitable for skin care. May be used in all types of soap and toiletries to improve moisturization and soften rough, dry skin. The fruit of this tree is high in nutritional content, and the seed contains approximately 67% oil. After harvesting, the seeds are expeller pressed to render a reddish-yellow, transparent oil with a slight nutty, vegetable odor reminiscent of Brazil Nuts. The oil is rich in fatty acids such as oleic and linoleic, with small amounts of myristic and stearic acids, along with phytosterol; It is also naturally rich in vitamins A, B, C and E. We take this nutrient-rich Oil and combine it with our proprietary exotic butter base to produce Brazil Nut Butter. Due to coffee s growing popularity, this butter will find wide acceptance among the youth and mature consumer markets alike. It is produced via blending of hydrogenated oils with roasted coffee oil pressed from Coffea Arabica seeds. Coffee oil mainly contains polyunsaturated linoleic acid with a high content of palmitic acid. Coffee Butter offers high oxidative stability (a lower linoleic content) with an exceptional smooth and elegant skin feel. Jojoba Butter contains monounsaturated long chain C20, C22 fatty acids with a relative high content of eicosenoic acid. Those monohydric ester waxes offer higher oxidative stability with an exceptional smooth and elegant feeling on the skin. Jojoba Butter contains natural tocopherols to help minimize lipid peroxidation. The resultant butter is a beautiful golden yellow color with a slight nutty odor typical of Jojoba. 7 Macadamia Seed Butter - Ultra Refined (Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil / Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil) Macadamia Seed Butter is obtained by cold pressing of the nuts (seeds) of the Macadamia ternifolia tree followed by a full refining process to render an oil which is light in color and mild in odor. During the pressing, the natural oil contains essential fatty acids, but also contains unsaponifiables as natural waxes/paraffins, which are collected during the refining and deodorization process, and are then blended with hydrogenated vegetable oil to render a butterlike consistency suitable for personal care products. Macadamia Seed Butter offers an exceptionally good emolliency and lubricity, while at the same time exhibiting good dermal penetration. Mineral rich Horsetail contains the building blocks needed for collagen and elastin synthesis, and the silicon present will link any collagen produced, thus greatly enhancing the rebuilding of connective tissues in the epidermis. 15 Pumpkin Seed Oil - Certified Organic (Cucurbita Pepo {Pumpkin} Seed Oil) Pumpkin Seed Oil (Ultra Refined) is a highly refined (light color) oil which is obtained from the seeds of organically grown Cucurbita Pepo {Pumpkin} by cold expeller press method.
