3 MOISTURE/PROTEIN BALANCE Since hair is made up of both protein and moisture it stands to reason that your hair needs a balance of both. However, these two things are intrinsically linked - the amount of moisture retained by your hair is dependent on the amount of protein because water molecules bind directly to them. Hair that has either too much protein or too much moisture will break and therefore it s important that you have a good balance of both since your hair needs both to be strong and healthy. Observing how your hair acts/feels is all you need to figure out if your hair is craving protein or moisture. Contour under the cheekbones following down toward the mouth to lift the face. If the face is long oval, contour the forehead and chin to shorten the length of the face.
