2 Collection Notes With a nod to David Lynch s iconic film Blue Velvet, Jackie Astier introduces a deep palette of rich tones (orchid, dark rose, violet, brick, caramel, amber, denim, anthracite) combined with masculine details in a collection for Fall 18. Displaying modern shapes with elevated proportions and an editorial styling sensibility. Jackie s conversation with femme meets homme is expressed throughout. Purposeful texture is found in corduroy and tapestry. Substantial florals amplify the expression of color combinations and mood. Plaids are considered with athletic stripes or adorned with flowers. Silks and lace are paired with corduroy and leather to break their fragility. Suits turn up with oversized jackets that drape with comfort but can be belted for silhouette. Velvets are styled together effortlessly offering le smoking effect. The collection is empowered with ease and definition, a sultry, free-spirited interpretation of mystery.

12 About Jackie was born and raised in New York. She studied at Parsons School of Design, F.I.T. and Esmod in Paris where she explored a range of disciplines from architecture and fine arts to fashion and interior design. She began her styling career as an assistant to stylist/editor Muriel Brandolini ( the now famed Interior Designer ) contributing to countless Italian and French Vogue shoots. Jackie then joined Manhattan File Magazine as Fashion Editor where she produced and styled celebrity covers, fashion editorials and wrote her column Style File. Simultaneously Jackie collaborated on dozens of music videos styling the likes of, The Spice Girls, K.D. Lang, Alannis Morissette and Crystal Waters to name a few. From there she was recruited to style national and international advertisement campaigns, including Aston Martin, L Oreal and Revlon. Later, relocating to London she continued freelancing as a fashion stylist creating editorial for publications including W Magazine, Tank Magazine, Amica Magazine, Marie Claire, British Vogue and Spanish Vogue. Upon returning 5 years later to the USA, now with 2 babies in tow, she joined the team at Avenue Magazine in hopes to turn the 30-year old social book into a modern monthly. In 2012 she joined the Untitled Magazine, a bi-annual fashion and culture book as Fashion Director and is currently a contributing Fashion Director to Spirit & Flesh Magazine. Jackie has styled several NYFW fashion shows and continues to work with Gillies Mendel at the house of J. Mendel. After years behind the scenes, Jackie decided to culminate her creative energy and passion for design into women s ready-to-wear that speaks to her varied style aesthetics. During Jackie tested the waters with small capsule collections mainly sold at her pop up store, CONCEPT Southampton, as well as at other doors in the Hamptons. With this success she moves forward with her first full collection for Fall18.
