I wanted to create a collection that celebrates the spirit of the city and the fantasy that it tells. In cities, the harmony of bold, sculptural lines and gentle, organic forms is everywhere.

Each metropolis also serves as the ultimate crosssection of technology, artistry, and culture.

3 step inside oururban FANTASY The city is forever an inspiration to me. Within its cosmopolitan confines, it holds multifaceted elements of style and substance architecture, nature, culture, technology and lights that trigger continual creativity. I wanted to create a collection that celebrates the spirit of the city and the fantasy that it tells. In cities, the harmony of bold, sculptural lines and gentle, organic forms is everywhere. It is this contrast of elements that inspired the curved lines with strong, shapely motifs in many pieces from this season. Each metropolis also serves as the ultimate crosssection of technology, artistry, and culture. With this in mind, urban gaming, futuristic art installations and emojis inspired a range of innovative, playful designs in the collection. I believe Swarovski pieces are meant to be worn by all women. Whether she is the timeless woman, the romantic lady, the rock chic girl or the glam fashionista, there is an extraordinary creation that reflects her style personality and inspires her to create her own urban fantasy. When she isn t walking the runway for renowned designers or gracing the covers of fashion s most-loved magazines, she s meditating, meal-prepping and making the most of her time with her beloved son. You seem to have a really healthy work/life balance. How do you do it? You have to make time for the things that are important. I love cooking and that means I am mindful of what I eat because I am taking the time to prepare it. I realized I was eating a lot of meat; I cut back tremendously. Your body is legendary. What is your gym routine? As for working out, it s all about boxing. It s a workout for the mind and body. My brother is a personal trainer and really pushes me when we are in the gym together. You re no stranger to speaking up and lending your voice to great causes. What are some that you feel passionate about? I am focused on my work with a non-profit association that is solely devoted to the research and funding for those suffering from life-threatening blood diseases. It is my most important job besides being a mother. When it comes to jewellery, what types of pieces do you like to wear? Jewellery depends on the outfit. If the outfit is simple you can add jewellery to make a statement and spice up the look. If the outfit is bold you can add minimal, subtle jewellery for a very chic, final touch. 18

Retailers may choose to sell for less. What does Swarovski represent/evoke for you? My Mum bought me a charm Swarovski bracelet as a going away present when I was leaving London for New York at 17. I was scared as hell leaving home and being by myself in NY but the charm bracelet was a reminder of my home with an added sense of strength and independence. You re such a positive role model. How do you use your platform to inform and inspire girls who look up to you? For me, it s always been about staying true to myself. I think people forget that I m still human and I m going to have flaws and make mistakes and that s ok. I hope young girls see that and it inspires them to be no one else but themselves. With a Grammy Award-winning EP and a collaboration with The Chainsmokers under her belt, Daya is far from your typical 18-year-old. She shares her inspirations, the best jewellery for performing, and why she s never slowing down. Your songs have inspired so many young women. Who are some singers and songwriters who ve shaped your music? When I was younger, I listened to a lot of Alanis Morissette and Dido. They told honest stories and gave it all emotionally. I also want to be real and authentic with people, and they inspired me to do that from the beginning. How would you define your sound? Soulful pop. I started playing the piano when I was really young, and that s how I got into songwriting I d play piano ballads and sing. I was really into R&B and soul, and I kind of brought that into pop. If I m going with a really bold red carpet outfit, I like to wear fine jewellery like thin rings and petite necklaces. Your Instagram is awesome how do you use it to make your voice heard? The more authentic you are, the more true to yourself you are on that platform, the more people gravitate towards it. I like to keep it really focused on my work and the films that I m doing. When people feel like it s real, that s when you get the best reaction. Between her pixie cut, chiseled features, and arms full of ink, Ruby Rose has got a look all her own. For her, it s all about confidence, self-love, and resilience (and a handful of rings). When it comes to style, you re not afraid to do your own thing. Where does your confidence come from? I think all confidence stems from within. When you re gentle and loving and know who you are, it s a lot easier to put yourself out there. I owe a lot of that to my childhood and a very supportive mother. I ve had some very strong female figures in my life, and they taught me to be very resilient. Rings, bracelets or necklaces what s your favourite and why? Rings and necklaces but for polar opposite reasons. I like rings because they bring out my hand and knuckle tattoos. I like necklaces because that s where I don t have any ink it gives me more of a classic look. What jewellery do you go for when you want to stand out? I gravitate towards more neutral outfits, so I really like statement necklaces. I have three piercings in my ears, so I also like to try and fill them up as much as possible. No matter where she is, Brazilian model Ana Carolina uses jewellery to express herself and her style. Whether she s off-duty or dressed for a night on the town, she lets her taste in jewellery reflect her personality. When you re not working, what s your approach to jewellery? I wear at least a ring and a pair of earrings all the time, even at the gym. I want my jewellery to show my personality and my soul. How would you define your living space? Although I m rarely there, my home is in Brazil. My brother lives there at the moment, and we both decorate the place with souvenirs that we bring from different parts of the world. Almost every object in my home has a meaning or story behind it. How does your daytime and nighttime style differ? I m a Gemini, so my mood varies all the time, and so does my style. I m always up for mixing colours and prints, especially during the daytime. When in doubt, for nighttime, I usually go for total black looks. What do you do when you re not modeling? I want my JEWELLERY to show my personality and my SOUL. Lots of things. I start my day at the gym, usually boxing, running, or doing yoga. I study fashion design, so I constantly work on my drawings and mood boards. I m also learning Italian, and I like to practice speaking and listening almost every day. What s your ultimate form of relaxation? Listening to a lovely song, meditating, or hugging somebody I really love or hugging a puppy! What s your ultimate dream vacation destination? The most important thing for me isn t where I am, but who I m with. But if I have to pick a destination, I d say Cuba. SWAROVSKI.COM 27
