10 LE MODELING BLOOMÉA 1. MACRO-EXFOLIATION At the start of each session, a new tip is unsealed in the presence of the client and then attached to the handpiece. The single-use tip dispenses with the need for cleaning and above all ensures that the rigorous hygiene requirements for this type of treatment are met. When switched on, the tip starts to oscillate at a high frequency and its granularly exfoliating surface is applied to the skin to remove the imperfections layer by layer and to smooth and tone the skin : this is the process of Macro-exfoliation. The person feels a completely painless friction and vibration. Thanks to the Blooméa booklet allowing a personalized follow-up, the number of applications increase session after session in order to reach the optimal efficiency fit for each treated person. 53 LE MODELING BLOOMÉA - CAUTION FOR USE 1- At each session, systematically respect the protocol, especially to make sure of the number of Macro exfoliation passes according to the interval in between sessions. 2- As for any kind of skin care performed in an institute (scrub, waxing, use of a device etc ), the treatments must be performed on a healthy skin. Do not run Blooméa on a damaged skin ( sun burns, injuries, acne spots, some moles, herpes, allergic rashes, marks which have not be checked by a doctor etc). Specific case : sun marks due to pregnancies or to the contraceptive pill and diagnosed as such by a dermatologist, acne scars and other scars are to be treated with Blooméa. 3- Specific case of unstable stretch marks (purplish, pink or red) and unstable scars (pink or red) : they can evolve and spontaneously fade away within one or two years without any kind of treatment. Current studies are comparing this spontaneous fading away to the evolution triggered thanks to Blooméa (10 sessions treatment) : the treated areas are believed to reach a better aspect with Blooméa than without treatment. Nevertheless, without the final results of these studies, it is advised to only treat stable stretch marks and scars (white ones) for which the efficiency has already been proven (smoother skin and unified complexion). 4- As for any skin care performed in an institute, make sure to clean the area before the treatment so as to remove any traces of perfume or cream the client could have applied before the treatment. 5- Dry the skin carefully. 6- Do not come near the eyelids : at least 0.5 inch away from the eyes. 7- Do not touch the red part of the lips (semi mucous). 8- If the client is used to herpes, inform her / him that herpetic thrust can occur (very rare) if Macro-exfoliation is performed close to the lips. 9- Wait for 6 months after having taken medicines for acne treatments (ex : Accutane), before any Blooméa session. 10- As for any efficient care on the skin, sun protection (IP50+) is recommended on the treated zone exposed to the sun, during the 3 following days of the care for punctual care and during all the treatment. Avoid sun during redness periods. 11- Blooméa cares have to be performed with a minimum of 5 days between two sessions. For example during a treatment, every session will be ideally performed at a one week interval (or 2 weeks at most). To have an efficient treatment, avoid a longer time span between two sessions (follow the protocol.) 12 - Do not do sports during the 12 hours following a session. Sweating can cause an unpleasant sensation of tingling in the area that was treated. 13- No allergy to the Blooméa cream was found, but it could be possible, like for any cream. In case of allergy, do not perform any session with Face or Body tips that involve a Blooméa cream use. Optima Scrub tip is the only one that can be used as it optimizes other facial cares. 14- Even if no scientific studies contraindicate the use of Blooméa, in case of pregnancy, wait for the end of the pregnancy to start the treatment on the breasts, thighs and hips again. For the Stretch marks Treatment, the Body or neck Perfecteur Treatment, twice as fast : each back and forth movement within 1 second. MICRO VIBRATION MODELING training : always on frequency 2, free movements (linear or circular) on the whole area of the back of the hand, slower movement and with more pressure and a continuous contact (feel the ideal pressure on your hand). 3 - INSTALLATION AND SETTINGS - Put the Blooméa device next to you on a shelf. If you are right handed, sit or stand on the left side of your client, if you are left handed, sit or stand on the right side. - Plug in the device and then turn it on by pushing the power button. Set the central light ("bulb" button). - Set the device on the right frequency (1 or 2 according to the treatment chosen and as indicated in the protocol) on the base. 4 - THE BLOOMÉA TIP BE CAREFUL NOT TO CHOOSE THE WRONG TIP - the OPTIMA SCRUB tip : Face Blooméa optimal scrub, even on the surface and fully penetrative. It optimizes all the non Blooméa skin cares and replaces a conventional manual scrub. - the FACE tip : for the other Blooméa facials (Coup d éclat or Face Perfecteur treatment) and for the Neck Perfecteur Treatment "progressive" option. - the BODY tip for all the body Blooméa treatments (Stretch marks treatment, Neck Perfecteur Treatment "performance" option, neckline furrows of the décolleté and the back of the hands). - Fix the new tip (still sealed) by simple pushing it (2 clicks will be heard, there shall be no space between the tip and the hand piece). - Carefully unseal the tip in front of the client who is then sure of the rigorous hygiene necessary to this care. 5 - INFORM THE CLIENT ABOUT WHAT SHE WILL FEEL DURING THE SESSION Suring the Blooméa optimal Macro exfoliation, the client will feel a painless friction and vibration. There is a heating up of the treated area (mostly on the cheeks for the face treatments) which is the 1 st sign of efficiency of Le Modeling Blooméa. This heating up is immediately eased thanks to the 2 nd step of the care ; the high frequency micro vibrations Modeling associated to the application of the Blooméa cream. It will be a pleasant and soothing moment. At the very first session, give the client a few minutes so she gets used to the micro vibrations and then ask her how she feels. 52

55 THE 12 KEYS TO THE UNFOLDING OF A BLOOMEA MODELING SESSION Film The Blooméa device 6 - GET THE SKIN READY - Clean the area to be treated with a neutral soap or with a wipe. Remove all traces of cream or make up and then carefully dry it. If you are performing a facial, ask the client to close her eyes so she won t be uncomfortable with the light therapy. In case she is still uncomfortable, place two moistened cotton pads or UV glasses on her eyes. - To begin the care, you only have to press the button on the hand piece : light therapy and oscillation start. 7 - THE FIRST STEP OF LE MODELING : THE BLOOMÉA OPTIMAL MACRO EXFOLIATION USE THE TIP FLAT ON THE SKIN - AVOID OVERLAPS - RESPECT THE LIMITS OF EACH TREATED AREA (darker) - Le Modeling starts with the Blooméa optimal Macro exfoliation (frequency 1 or 2 depending on the treatment chosen) which removes, layer after layer, the imperfections of the skin to sooth and unify the skin. The client will feel a completely painless friction and vibration. - It s very natural : the simple weight of the device is enough to get the right pressure on the skin. - Strecthed skin technic : the dominant hand is holding the hand piece while the other hands keep the skin tense. The client herself can help the beautician for areas such as the thighs, hips or the belly. - You can treat an area thanks to linear or circular movements. Linear movements are easier to perform and are advised at the beginning of your practice to make sure you respect the number of passes. - For punctual facials ( Blooméa optimal scrub or Blooméa coup d éclat), perform one way passes. - For body or face treatments, perform back and forth movements (more efficient) SPEED of the movements : For the Coup d éclat and the Blooméa Optimal Scrub : each one way movement within 1 second. For the Face Perfecteur Treatment, same speed but for a BACK AND FORTH movement : each BACK AND FORTH movement within 2 seconds. For the Stretch marks Treatment, the Body or neck Perfecteur Treatment, twice as fast : each back and forth movement within 1 second. The number of passes for the macro exfoliation is indicated in the protocol of each care (1 treatment -1 file) or in the SUMMARY FILE of the Bloomea Book (p56). The efficiency of the optimal Macro exfoliation depends on the number of passes at each session. For a cure, the 1 st session is a basic one and allows you to perform a mild Modeling to both test the quality of the skin and perform an efficient care. Increase the number of passes according to protocol at each following session. The protocol is based on how your client felt ("ACCEPTABLE" or "TOO MUCH") the 4 signs of efficiency (heating up and redness) at the previous session. The goal is to remain in the ACCEPTABLE ZONE while meeting the efficiency wanted by the client. It corresponds to the greatest efficiency you can reach without making the client uncomfortable. On the face, after having treated a 4 by 4 inches area (such as a forehead or a cheek), turn the tip one notch clockwise to continue with a new macro exfoliating surface. The tip is composed to up to 5 macro exfoliating surfaces. Thanks to these 5 surfaces, a FACE tip allows you to treat a whole face composed of 5 elements : the forehead, the temples, the nose, the left and right cheek and finally the mouth area (white lips and chin) (cf p31). On the body, for a stretch marks treatment for example, divide the areas to be treated in 5 zones and turn the tip at each new zone. 8 - PREPARATION OF THE 2 ND STEP OF LE MODELING BLOOMÉA - Take off the colored plastic cap of the tip by simply pulling it with your thumb or by turning it counterclockwise.. - Pull the strip to remove the macro exfoliating surface to reveal the underlying silicon surface. - Spread a few drops of the Blooméa cream (except for the Blooméa optimal scrub scrub which can be used with other non Blooméa cares performed in institutes), rich in elastin, collagen and hyaluronic acid and specifically created for the Bloomea treatments using a FACE or BODY tip : 2 drops are enough for a 4 by 4 inches area (such as a forehead or a cheek). - Set the device on frequency 2. This step is to be performed with a mix of linear and circular movements but at a slower pace and with a bit more pressure than during the Blooméa optimal macro exfoliation to stimulate the dermis better. For this step, it is not necessary to stretch the skin. - This second step is usually felt as pleasant and even very pleasant by the client. - Example : The 1 st pass spreads the cream / 2 nd pass: 3 or 4 movement for each zone / 3 rd or 4 th pass (or more) : keep going with the high frequency Micro vibrations Modeling until full absorption of the cream LIGHT THERAPY Light therapy is emitted by the hand piece during the whole session. Closing your eyes is usually enough not to feel uncomfortable (otherwise use cotton pads) END OF THE BLOOMÉA MODELING SESSION - A Bloomea Modeling session usually lasts between 20 to 30 minutes depending on the treatment chosen. - At the end of the session, take off the used tip by pulling it off and put the TRAINING tip back on the hand piece: it is both a protection and an element of design. Avoid sun during redness periods. - Remind the client about the different phases of improvements for the TREATMENTS : the 3 or 4 first sessions prepare the skin to a greater efficiency at the following sessions, beginning of real improvements usually at the 4 th or 5 th session for the most visible imperfections. 54

The fundamental criteria to the efficiency of the treatments is the depth of the imperfections to correct : usually, superficial imperfections are radically attenuated to the eye, the deepest imperfections require more sessions and will be improved to the touch (softer skin, we can barely feel the stretch marks, acne scars and other scars any longer).
