Initial ingredient and technology research on ARTISTRY Intensive Skincare 14 Night Restore Programme began 10 years ago. None of the following products should be used in either your daily or nightly skincare regimen while you are using the ARTISTRY Intensive Skincare 14 Night Restore Programme: AHS Plus, Polishing Scrub, Skin Refinishing Lotion, Pure White Masque, Renewing Peel and Anti-Wrinkle Firming Serum. If I don t use the whole mini-pump in one use, can I use the rest of it the following day and will I get the same results? The recommended use is one whole mini-pump per day. 5 Ingredients & Technology What does the Deep Night Action 7 Complex consist of? Deep Night Action 7 Complex consists of several powerful ingredients: Ultrasomes (Micrococcus Lysate a source of UV- Endonuclease), a Vitamin C derivative, HLM, Hexose and extracts from the following Liquorice Root, Alpinia Leaf, Sunflower Seedcake, Rosemary, Oats, Lemon and Cucumber. These ingredients help repair and restore the skin against premature signs of ageing. What is UV-Endonuclease? UV-Endonuclease is the key enzyme of the Ultrasomes. It is a bioengineered enzyme based on the natural recovery process originally found in marine algae. Algae float on the surface of the ocean and are constantly exposed to UV light from the sun. And yet they manage to survive and flourish in this harsh environment. UV-Endonuclease mimics this natural recovery system. Why is the product so expensive? What is Liquorice Root and where does it come from? The liquorice plant is a perennial herb, grown from seed or from divisions of the rhizomes. The fragrance is described as an Herbal Citrus Floral. The main top herbal notes are basil and clary sage, with fruit notes such as mandarin orange and grapefruit; middle notes include orange flower, rose and jasmine; the bottom notes are a woody musk. 6 Cautions Results I have extremely sensitive skin. What should I expect after application of ARTISTRY Intensive Skincare 14 Night Restore Programme? has been thoroughly tested on groups of individuals representing all skin types. There was no evidence of an allergic response or extreme skin irritation. However, we recognise that no testing programme can ensure that no one will ever develop minor reactions. Since no major clinical irritation was observed in our extensive testing programme, we would expect reactions to be limited to minor tingling sensations, a slight stinging or redness lasting for several minutes. Each person s tolerance of these sensations is different. How quickly will I see a difference in my skin? This product was designed to demonstrate visible results in 14 days. However, clinical testing shows that you may begin to see and feel improvements earlier, with maximum benefits achieved within 14 days. Can you define what clarity means? As one ages, the skin takes on a dull, matte appearance. The appearance of the skin can be thought of as having a range, with one end of the scale being dull and lifeless, and the other end being bright and luminous. It is the bright, luminous end of the scale that we define as clarity. If I have a bad sunburn or inflamed skin, can I use this product? Generally, we do not recommend that any cosmetic product be used after a bad sunburn or any extreme inflammation. The product should only be used after inflammation has subsided. Can I use this while I m pregnant? Ingredients in the ARTISTRY Intensive Skincare 14 Night Restore Programme have been shown to be safe for use by all women. Safety studies of cosmetics are not conducted on pregnant women. Whether or not to use this product or any other consumer products such as coffee, aspirin, etc., should be discussed by the patient with her doctor. Can I use ARTISTRY Intensive Skincare 14 Night Restore Programme on my eyelids? And, how close to the eyes can you apply it? product was tested and found safe in the areas of the crow s feet and below the eye. It should not be applied on the eyelid or directly in the eye area. If it comes into contact with an eye, it should be rinsed out immediately. Can I still use the product if I am younger? Age is not the determining factor for this product s use. 7 Packaging Why is the product packaged in a mini-pump? The mini-pump ensures that you are using only the freshest product that has not been exposed to the air. There are 14 minipumps in the programme enough for one every night for two weeks. How many pumps does it take to prime each mini-pump package? The average priming is seven pumps for each of the ARTISTRY Intensive Skincare 14 Night Restore Programme mini-pumps. How do I know when each mini-pump is empty? individual packages are airless mini-pumps, which are capable of dispensing the full amount of the product. Therefore, the package will automatically stop dispensing product when it is empty. Can I recycle the packages? The package base is 100% ABS plastic material and the lid is 100% PET plastic material. 8 Glossary Collagen and Elastin. The structural support proteins of the skin. Cytokines. Small cell-signalling proteins that are released in response to disease or infection. Dermis. The skin s inner layer containing collagen, elastin proteins and polysaccharides for support. It also provides energy and nutrition to the epidermis. DNA. The molecular unit of every cell; the building block of genes. Epidermis. The skin s outer layer of cells. Extra-cellular Matrix. Comprised of polysaccharides, fibrous proteins and enzymes and provides cellular and structural support to the skin. Free Radicals. These are highly reactive and unstable small molecules produced by external factors (sun, pollution, wind and temperature) or internal factors (emotions, metabolism and the presence of excess oxygen). They cause extensive damage to the skin s biological structures (like proteins and DNA). An example of a Free Radical is an ROS (as described right). Liposome. Microscopic spheres manufactured from natural or synthetic fatty substances that include Phospholipids derived from soy lecithin. Liposomes act like a delivery system, depositing the enclosed ingredients into the skin. MMPs (Matrix Metalloproteinases). A family of enzymes that can break down matrix proteins such as collagen and elastin, as well as the other components of the extracellular matrix in the skin. MMP activity is increased with UV exposure and can cause damage to healthy normal skin proteins, resulting in a lack of firmness and resilience. An example of a Free Radical is an ROS (Reactive Oxygen Species). Pathogen. An infectious agent like a germ, virus or fungus that causes a disease. Photo-Facial. Terminology used by Dermatologists referencing a professional treatment that uses intense pulsed light technology to resurface the skin. Proteins. Biological molecules that are encoded into genetic materials. Proteins like collagen are composed of Amino Acids and form the physical structure of the skin. ROS. ROS are Reactive Oxygen Species generated from the sun that can cause damage deep in biological molecules (DNA), as well as in proteins, carbohydrates and lipids. They also cause the release of inflammatory cytokines, increasing skin inflammation and irritation. Stratum corneum. The outermost layer of the skin s epidermis made up of dead proteinaceous skin cells. Ultrasomes. Fat or fat-like substances that are insoluble in water and constitute the principal structural material of living cells.
