1 2017 CELC CONGRESS BERGAMO OPEN PART CONFERENCES in collaboration with Managing sustainability in textile: Exploring best practices of traceability and circularity Sustainability has become a structural trend for the Fashion & Textile industry and is affecting its competitive dynamics, key success factors and consumers expectations. Traceability and circularity are the hot topics in Sustainable Fashion & Textile: the conferences will analyze these two drivers of change with the objective of providing some concrete tools and inspiring food for thought to the participants. Flax, as one of the most sustainable fibres, offers some remarkable advantages to the brands, the final consumers and our Planet. It will be useful to discuss how Flax/Linen can benefit of the new consumers expectations and how traceability, through a certification label, may guarantee the leadership in sustainability. Clemente Sironi SMI Linen Section President Italian weaver, Clemente Sironi is board adviser of Centrocot since 2017 and President of the Linen Section of SMI since Francesca Romana Rinaldi Moderator Director of the Master in Brand & Business Management and New Sustainable Fashion course MILANO FASHION INSTITUTE She teaches at Bocconi University and Bocconi Business School where she is responsible of the CSR in Fashion & Luxury topic at the Master in Fashion, Experience & Design Management. She is co-author of The Responsible Fashion Company (Greenleaf Publishing, 2014) and a passionate executive consultant for companies in the Fashion and Luxury industries, having acquired a practical expertise on brand management, sustainability and digital strategies. She is speaker at international forums on the topics of Responsible Innovation in Fashion & Luxury. She is also speaker at the UN for the topic of Responsible Fashion. She has been invited as fashion industry expert in Italian and international TV channels. In 2010 she has created the Bio-Fashion blog with the objective of raising awareness on Sustainability in Fashion and Luxury.
3 KEYNOTE Carlo Moltrasio Consultant BAIN & COMPANY For over 4 years, Carlo has focused on clients in luxury and fashion goods. Carlo has worked on issues such as luxury branding and marketing, brand health monitoring, market research on consumers behavior and strategic positioning. His most recent work covers strategies addressing Millennials, sustainability and digital disruption. Carlo is actively collaborating with Bocconi both in the luxury track of the MBA and MAFED programs. Francois Souchet Project Manager ELLEN MACARTHUR FOUNDATION Rossella Ravagli Head of Corporate Sustainability & Responsibility GUCCI Fully responsible for the development of the CS&R programs and topics, including communication and training activities. She develops and implements all the tools, processes and activities necessary for the implementation of Gucci s social and environmental program. As a part of her job Rosella Ravagli identifies the ethical, social and environmental risks and impacts of production, commercial activities and the logistics infrastructure, in order to implement actions and tools to effectively pursue the CSR program, acknowledging and respecting the environment and communities where the company operates. She has 20 years experience in working social and environmental responsibility standards, having been responsible for everything from development and training activities. Francesco Pianca Senior Manager of Sustainable Manufacturing BURBERRY Francesco is leading the chemical management program known as Project 2020 to deliver to Burberry commitment to eliminating unwanted chemicals from the supply chain. Francesco has previously worked 17 years for Benetton Group in developing countries, moving along with the relocation of the textile manufacturing processing from Europe to Asia. While heading the Quality of Benetton Group he led product stewardship programs and focussed on chemical management and sustainability. Since 2012 he has been participating in the ZDHC development, representing the two brands. Francesco is passionate of free flying and is always amazed when a 22gsm fabric appropriately sewn into a paraglider takes him to the sky, flying over the Prosecco region, where he is originally from. Francois is a project manager with the Ellen MacAthur Foundation. He focuses on projects to explore the value creation potential of the circular economy for the Foundation s Global Partners (Danone, Google, H&M, Intesa San Paolo, Nike, Philips, Renault, Unilever). Prior to joining the Foundation, Francois was a management consultant with Accenture. He holds a masters degree in Civil Engineering and a masters of Engineering Project Management from the University of Melbourne.
4 ROUNDTABLE Gianpiero Tessitore, CEO Founder VEGEA Italian architect and designer, his commitment to sustainability led him to find alternative eco-sustainable materials to be used in the fashion & design Industry. After a 3 year research on different agro-industrial plant based matrices he developed Vegea, a biobased material made out of grape skins and seeds derived from the winemaking process. An innovation awarded at the Global Change Award 2017 initiated by H&M Foundation. Enrica Arena, Co-Founder ORANGE FIBER Born in Sicily, she has obtained a degree in International Cooperation and Communication. She has worked in the communication field for the non-profit sector and as project manager for the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and UNDP-Egypt, where her passion in social entrepreneurship as driving force for growth started. She joined Orange Fiber - the Italian company that manufactures sustainable fabrics for fashion from citrus juice byproduct - at the beginning of its development and she is now in charge of communication, marketing and fundraising. Raymond Libeert, CEO LIBECO Managing director of Libeco. He is part of the fifth generation of his family to lead the company, founded in Raymond focused on diversifying Libeco s target markets and expanding the decoration segment, Libeco s main activity today. His personal interest for sustainable development was implemented throughout the company, which is certified carbon neutral since 3 years. Commited to local and sustainable production, Libeco is Masters of Linen certified. Matteo Ward, CEO and co-founder WRÅD A Bocconi graduate in International Economics, Matteo kicks off his journey in the fashion industry working for 6 years for Abercrombie and Fitch as Sr. Manager in Germany. In 2015 he decides to exit his corporate career path and, together with Victor Santiago and Silvia Giovanardi, founded WRÅD, a movement and a brand with purpose: inspiring the market to express intangible values through tangible things, in order to catalyze the rise of a new order of sustainable action in the fashion industry. Matteo is today also a permanent member of Fashion Revolution Italia.
5 DIALOGUE Gianluca Mirabassi, CEO and Co-founder LORENA ANTONIAZZI Gianluca Mirabassi together with his wife Lorena Antoniazzi constitute in 1991, the textile company Sterne of which he is the President and CEO. Subsequently, the company launched its own brand Lorena Antoniazzi, gaining particular success on foreign markets among the world s most renowned customers. The company is now firmly established in the field of high-end cashmere knitwear. Gianluca Mirabassi has been President of Perugia Confindustria s Textiles-Clothing Division, bringing together and reprenting the sector s main manufacturing companies in Umbria associated with Confindustria. Mirabassi has been also President of the Umbria Confindustria Regional Textiles and Clothing Division and Vice President of the Perugia Territorial Section of Confindustria Umbria.
