Barbara Hvidt and Tine Holt Møller, drawn the inspiration for the OPTI- MISM collection from their journey to Tokyo in Spring It s been their first time visiting and getting lost in this amazing and diverse place. The exquisite and distinctive traditions, contrasts, symbols and motifs are an important part of the Japanese aesthetics and the Tokyo streetscape - and it is here where the OPTIMISM collection springs from. Overwhelmed by impressions and fascinated by Tokyo s vibrant source of inspiration from colour clashes, cute mascots, sculptures and chaos, to urban silence, handcrafted ceramics, flashing traffic signs, neon lights, textured back alleys, Japanese traditions vs. modern aesthetics and so much more By soaking up all new feelings, getting lost and loosing track of time, one will suddenly understand the beauty of everything that surrounds us which unveils and underlines the importance of being optimistic and an open-minded. GIRLS Japanese traditions vs. modern aesthetics The artworks are influenced by the Japanese culture, the authentic handcraft and the beautiful landscape. Delicate cherry blossoms print with the traditional Japanese crane bird carefully placed between the vibrant pink cherry flowers, beautiful shapes of embroidered insects and old-fashioned floral taken from the Japanese gardens and traditional kimonos. Sophisticated art deco allover print inspired by hand painted Japanese wallpapers on a cool tracksuit. Cherry blossom, a beloved Japanese symbol of the love between parents and children, is prettily patterned on this beautiful dusty rose 30 s dress and on a voluminous frill layered skirt - a tribute to the art of watching a flower and it s beauty. Fine knitted cardigan and an easy-towear black dress with vintage kimono inspired flower print in gold are pushing the art of flowers, accessorised with a beret, gloves and a scarf in the same print makes it warm and lavish at the same time. Hidden stories from the Sensu Fan One of this season s highlight print is the traditional Sensu fan. The fan is represented in different ways in the collection: as a more delicate allover print to fine, beautiful handmade embroideries. Seen on loungewear-inspired pants and dressy shirts together with a soft quilted kimono jacket and a lightweight floating dress. Wear it as a single piece or layer it. Another key print in this collection is the blinking fan, a new modern and playful version of the traditional Sensu fan. The print is found on light rose dresses and sweatshirts with pretty shoulder details, bomber bags and as a big back piece on our luxury midnight blue silk bomber with colour contrast arms. New in the outerwear selection is also a warm and puffy gold down jacket with high collar, beautifully decorated with the Blinking Sensu fan embroidery patch on the chest. Teddy tales from Harajuku Brand new for this season is the fussy fake fur jacket and the soft teddy shopper - a mix of bright colours and different textures always makes a perfect combination! The piece is inspired by the Harajuku area, known for its Japanese youth culture and quirky fashion. Colour blocked in camel, pink and rose, this mid-length teddy coat is both fury, bold and warm destined to be a wardrobe hero. Match it with the fake fur teddy hat for a complete look. BOYS The sporty edit Mixing comfy Nordic silhouettes with Japanese urban culture and vintage sportswear vibes, this collection is focused on timeless styles and trendy pieces to create a strong and convincing look that is easy to wear. It s all about fun motifs, Japanese vibes, real friends, team spirit and old school sport references as shown on the Soft Gallery s new tiger MASKOT, symbolising the big Japanese baseball traditions.
