2 Moisturising There are many ways to hydrate and moisturise the skin, from cost effective humectants such as Glycerin, hydrating agents like Hyaluronic acid, Phospholipids to reduce TEWL and actives rich in essential fatty acids to restore the skin barrier function. The skin is the largest organ of the body and provides an essential barrier. Healthy skin is characterised by a balanced equilibrium of fat and moisture. Dry skin is often rough, dull, flaky and unsightly. It tends to be red and sensitive to inflammation and can be itchy and feel taut. When we talk about the term skin moisture in cosmetics we refer to the water content of the Stratum corneum, which contains water to maintain flexibility and elasticity, regulate desquamation, and provide NMF to the lamellar lipid matrix. Moisture deficient skin leads to ageing and deeper wrinkles. We all know that one way of reducing wrinkles is to moisturise the skin. 3 Adenna (INCI: Aqua, Triticum Vulgare Germ Extract) is a solution of vegetal DNA (desoxyribonucleic acid) extracted from Wheat Germ. 4 LIME BUTTER (INCI: Beeswax, Octyl Dodecanol, Lime Oil). Lime Butter is a paste wax using cold pressed Lime oil from the skin of the lime. When used in skin and sun applications it improves emolliency and lubricity in the finished product. Recommended usage level: % RASPBERRY BUTTER (INCI: Octyl Dodecanol, Beeswax, Rubus Idaeus). This is a paste wax that has been created using cold pressed raspberry oil in order to retain the naturally occurring antioxidants and other properties of the berries. This enhances the effects of the emolliency and lubricity on the finished product. Recommended usage level: 1-10% CAVIAR EXTRACT (INCI: Aqua, Glycerin, Caviar Extract) is a solution of 1% pure Caviar extractives obtained from certified sturgeon eggs, in a mix of water and Glycerin.
