2 NTURL WXES Y KHLWX In the past many people perceived formulations with waxes as heavy, dull, sometimes sticky, and too occlusive. Therefore, in skin care, waxes were primarily used in cold and barrier creams and other rich W/O emulsions. However, constant innovation and optimization in order to obtain more refined and, for the cosmetic industry, better and more widely applicable and acceptable natural waxes have unlocked many doors for the application of natural waxes in skin care and color cosmetics. It is now acknowledged that waxes have a much bigger potential! They are very useful because of their virtually innumerable advantageous properties. esides providing stability, enhancing viscosity and consistency, they form flexible, protective layers, and many of them have a superb, light, soft, and buttery skin feel. OSMETI FORMULRY Welcome to 's formulary! The formulary is designed to provide basic information, creative ideas, and guidance to formulators for the cosmetic industries. We have based our formulas on products to demonstrate how our products can be utilized. Our formulas range from very simple to complex to meet the needs of the beginning and experienced formulator. s of late we try to follow the 'less is more' concept to keep our formulations innovative, but succinct (for more information, see page 29). For some formulations, tips are provided that give some more details about the formulation or the handling of the products used. The formulations are usually fragranced and sometimes colored. We have not always listed the corresponding ingredients, as every formulator prefers different ingredients/suppliers and we decided to leave this decision mainly with them. We have sorted our formulations by application. Within a category the reference numbers are in alphabetical order. dditionally, you will find an index at the end of the brochure. We have stabilized all formulations containing water with safe preservatives. Waxes and resins are not very ph-sensitive and do not have known incompatibilities with standard preserving agents, therefore the selection is quite simple. Sometimes the preservative used is mentioned, sometimes it is not. In any event, this is no indication as to stability or activity. Most of our formulations contain fragrances or flavors.
