As I look back on the past 20 years of this sale, I realize they have been very rewarding, considering the many people we have come in contact with, the evolution of the cattle, and life long friendships we have made. However, our goals still remain the same: offer the very best cattle we can, get them into great homes, and see our customers achieve their goals. We are incredibly fortunate to make our living in the cattle business. I am excited about this offering of cattle. This group is loaded with talent. There are some obvious headliners but the quality runs tremendously deep. As you look through this catalog take notice the generations of cattle that have been sold in our past sales. That s what it s about! We run ads promoting our champions, but these that are producing the next great ones excite me the most. We have always strived to produce the best possible for our sales and select some of the elite ones from our customers. This year was no different, other than the fact that one operation had an abundant crop of outstanding fall heifers. The Moore family has been loyal customers and great friends for years. They have purchased some of our very best females over the years and have worked hard to build a program. As you glance through this catalog you will notice the number of CMCC cattle represented. My hat s off to them, they work hard and try to do things right. With that being said, it s not to take away from the rest of this offering they are exceptional and the genetics are stacked deep! The start of the 2016 show season has been phenomenal for our customers, but we are still determined to bring home more banners. We have an awesome set of customers, but we have several that are graduating. Therefore, we always need new families to take the reins. Now is the time to step in! The fall born heifers have been some of the most dominant females we have shown over the past three years and this is the sale to get in on that action. The past two years our fall born heifers have been named Champion or Reserve at five Junior Nationals and numerous other shows at county, district, and state levels across the country. Anyone that has ever had a sale can tell you they require tons of time and hard work to do them correctly. This sale is always a challenge to put together since it falls during major shows, county shows, and calving cows. We have an awesome crew, these guys give it 110%. A huge thank you to Matt Scasta, Seth Buckley, Matt Loggains, and Ethan Moore for every hour they put in. I have also been fortunate to have Bailey home this time; she has been great help with the catalog and sale preparations. We have been fortunate over the years to sell some cattle pretty well, however if you pay attention there are always several really great buys! For example, two Junior National Champions were sold for less than $8,000, the Reserve Champion in San Angelo sold for $5,000, and the Reserve Champion Hereford at the Missouri State Fair sold for $3,200.
