Wednesday, February 7:30 pm Thursday, February 7:30 pm Friday, February 8 pm Saturday, February 2 pm Saturday, February 8 pm Sunday, February 2 pm Sunday, February 7:30 pm National Theatre Washington, DC Set in the 90s the 1590s this hilarious smash tells the story of Nick and Nigel Bottom, two brothers who are desperate to write their own hit play while the rock star Shakespeare keeps getting all the hits. When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world s very first MUSICAL! With its heart on its ruffled sleeve and sequins in its soul, Something Rotten! is The Producers + Spamalot + The Book of Mormon. Squared! (New York Magazine). Lunar New Year Celebration at the Kennedy Center Feb 15-17, 2018 The Kennedy Center presents its third annual celebration of the Lunar New Year, honoring the traditional holiday as commemorated in countries and territories around the world. The popular free Family Day returns to celebrate the Year of the Dog with more live demonstrations and hands-on craft activities throughout the building. The festival also includes performances of the China National Symphony Orchestra, Chengdu Puppets, and the Sichuan Opera. Virginia Opera: A Midsummer Night s Dream Saturday, February 8 pm Sunday, February 2 pm George Mason University's Center for the Arts Fairfax, VA William Shakespeare s iconic 15th century language meets Benjamin Britten s 20th

2 century inventive and enchanting music in this delightful opera about love, forgiveness, and the power of dreams. A domestic dispute between the king and queen of fairies spills into the human realm, creating chaos as the stories of three couples and a troupe of amateur actors collide with hilarious results. Nothing is what it seems as fairies, rude mechanicals, and moonstruck young lovers spend a single, magical night in the forest. The Bernstein Story Presented by Washington Performing Arts Sunday, February 4 pm Strathmore North Bethesda, MD Now that Leonard Bernstein has been lionized... who can speak for what he truly meant to the American music scene? asked the Philadelphia Inquirer. The answer: Jamie Bernstein, acclaimed narrator, broadcaster, writer, and daughter of the late Leonard Bernstein and actress Felicia Montealegre. Featuring arrangements recently made for the Philadelphia Orchestra, the U.S. Air Force Band and Bernstein partner to take us on a romp through music including West Side Story, Candide, On the Town, Age of Anxiety, and more. Crossover: East and West Works by Four Korean American Artists Thru Wed, February 28 Korean Cultural Center DC Washington, DC This group exhibition features ceramic, installation, painting, and video art that question and inform the Asian immigrant experience in America through the works of four accomplished Korean American artists: Victoria Jang, Christina Ko, Jang Soon Im, and Eun Kyung Suh.
