The person in charge of the sale (seller, auctioneer or sale manager whether live public auction or Internet auction) will settle any disputes with regards to bids and his/her decision will be final. Announcements Corrections of or additions to any information in the sale catalog will be announced from the auction stand or on the Internet site (in the case of Internet auctions) prior to the selling of the animal or genetic material and such announcements will take precedence over any printed material. Payment Terms All sales are for immediate cash settlement unless other credit arrangements have been established between buyer and seller prior to the sale. Albany, Oregon Buyer s Risk The animal or genetic material becomes the property and risk of the buyer as soon as sold but it shall be the responsibility of the seller to see that animals are properly cared for, free of charge to purchaser, until delivered to buyer or until the expiration of 24 hours after the sale, whichever comes first. Identification It is the obligation of the seller to make sure that each animal sold has a readable tattoo corresponding to its registration paper. Buyers have a responsibility to recheck the tattoos after taking possession and reporting any discrepancies to the seller immediately. In the case that an animal is marketed under a nickname, the nickname must also be accompanied by the official registered name and registration number. Guarantee All cattle will sell under the terms and guarantees recommended by the American Hereford Association. Classy Lady calved for the first time at the age of 14 months with no difficulties. She has a beautiful udder and plenty of milk. There is a nice heifer calf at side sired by our herd bull, HL 40P Triton 7307 that was division champion at the 2008 Reno show. This pair will make a great addition to any herd. 11 Chance Mosby Memorial Junior Hereford Scholarship Purpose and Eligibility This scholarship fund has been established by Schurman Livestock and VX Cattle. Co. The fund awards scholarships to juniors who are active in their state Junior Hereford Association and are also enrolled in college, university, or community college. It is anticipated that scholarships will be awarded annually to three juniors; one from each state of Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. Awardees are not eligible for scholarships in subsequent years. Application Juniors who meet the eligibility requirements should submit an application to the president of the Oregon Hereford Association by November 1, The application should include high school and college transcripts, proof of enrollment in college, a statement of extra-curricular activities, and an essay (2 pages maximum) that describes contributions to the Hereford breed and Junior association and discussed educational and career goals. Evaluation A committee appointed by the OHA president and including representatives from each of the three states will evaluate the applications and select the awardees. The committee will report the decision to the OHA president who will then notify the awardees.
