Founder Andrea Bringmann says, I feel that we should take care of animals as human beings, and believe that dogs should not be chained up. What y do: Every Saturday, Street Dog Care sets up a camp within Boudha complex for stray street dogs, where along with volunteers y provide vet care, vaccinations, and sterilization. They also have a newly established centre on donated land for intensive care and shelter for critical cases, where dogs remain until y are healed and later adopted; 35 dogs are currently up for adoption. How you can help: Volunteer at ir weekly camps, or help m in ir fund raising activities. My partners Bhaskar Dhungana, Rajesh Siddhi and myself, accidentally stumbled into this business, and went ahead with it only because of our shared passion for films.

We have more plans for QFX, one in near horizon being mall we re constructing in Patan (former Lalitpur Bishal Bazaar premise).

I even used to set up my shop on streets of Sunday market in Rome to do that. It was all fun. What are you hobbies now? I still love to travel, and plan two major vacations with my family each year. Apart from that, I occasionally play golf. How do you balance your work, and your family life? Don t take home your work stress, would be my success mantra in this case. Being a Muslim, how do you observe major festivities like Dashain, and Tihar? Well, my wife is of Brahmin origin, so when it comes to celebrating festivals, my kids get to enjoy best of both worlds (smiles). What is your definition of success? I do not consider myself successful as of yet. But I do suggest young people to identify ir passion in life, and build a business around it. ETHNIC Smart Up Fail-proof party tricks During get-togers this festive season why not make a little cash, or spread a little laughter, with some fun party tricks. The match will burn up oxygen inside, sucking in balloon, enabling you to lift glass without direct contact. Watch out: It s highly likely that heat from burning matchstick will burst balloon. So, get your timing right. Practice makes perfect. Party Trick #2 Bet that you ll show m card y picked Shuffle a deck of cards. The KEY here is to remember card on bottom before asking ors to pick a card. Ask a person to pick a card from deck. After y take a look at it, ask m to place it back on top of deck. Cut deck in two sections, and place bottom half on top half. This will align ir chosen card right next (technically on bottom) to card you ve taken a Step 3 peak at. Announce that you are now going to locate chosen card, and slowly start to place cards on table. Pretend that you re guessing. Look for bottom card as soon as you see it, know that next one is your audience chosen card. Good Food No need for guilty pleasures Tihar may be festival of lights, but it is unofficially festival of sweets. Don t dread calories, just mind what you eat. The scale tippers Rasbari: Not much of a surprise, a delightful ball of this syrup drowned sweet contains around 193 calories. Kanpuri Laddu: It may not look like it, but this sweet carries a big punch, with around 185 calories per piece, it is in top of sweets pile. Jeri: Surprisingly, se do not pack that big of a sugary punch. A relatively decent sized piece contains around 150 calories. Peda: One in lower scale of list, a single piece contains around 82 calories. Your escape: Diet desserts If you are planning on avoiding sug ary treats altoger, do it by all means. But what s Tihar without sweet delicacies to savour, eh? Go for sugar-free sweets. It s been a decade since we first came out with sugar-free treats for our customers, says S.M Agrawal of Aagan Sweets, T ripureshwor.
