2 Oxford Hawks Autumn Festival Rules The aim of the festival is to introduce as many children as possible to tournament hockey, without creating an overly competitive environment. This year we are not seeding the leagues and would ask teams to mix the ability of their players across all their teams. There are no trophies awarded at the end of the tournament, but there will be league tables so that a small competitive element of hockey is maintained. All players will receive a medal. We hope that the teams will ensure that all squad members get an even time on the pitch. Playing Rules Teams will be 7-a-side playing on half pitches. Squads of up to 10 are allowed with as many substitutions as wanted. Teams are mixed with no minimum numbers for boys or girls. All girls and all boys teams will be allowed but to be done in the spirit of a festival. Each game will be centrally timed and the duration will be a single half of 9 minutes for all age groups. There is a very short period between matches so can Team Managers ensure that their teams are ready by the relevant pitch. The U10s and U12s must have a fully kitted goalkeeper or 7 outfield players no kicking backs. No Short Corners as it is still early in the season and because the games are short in length, any offence in the D by the defending team will be taken as a free hit 5 m outside the D. Umpires We will be using both junior and senior umpires. We expect players and coaches to respect their decisions and remember this is a Festival. League Scoring 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss League standings will be equal if the number of points is equal.

Car Parking The car park at Oxford Hawks cannot accommodate everyone. We request that those coming by car use alternative car parks in the near vicinity.

There is car parking available on 5 Mile Drive, Harbord Road, on the road by Jordan Hill Business Park and at Cutteslowe Park (this is pay and display). These are all within a short distance of the hockey pitches. Please see car park plan at the rear. Charity Raffle in aid of This year we are holding a raffle with some fantastic hockey prizes. Please by tickets priced at 1 each. There will be a prize draw for each age group at the medal ceremony. Thanks to our generous sponsors

4 Health and Safety Please could coaches and players make sure that their teams do not warm up by using the goals immediately in front of the spectator area to avoid the risk of balls flying into people. Could spectator also be conscious that there is a danger of balls being deflected over the fence into the viewing areas and standing immediately around the goals is not recommended. Photography Hawks Club appointed photographer will be at the ground during the day. Please could you let us know if parents have any objection to photos being taken.
